weird, chilling dream with implications....
okay, I'm recuperating at home from major abdominal surgery last week. They removed my gall bladder, but they had to do it the old fashioned way when the lapro failed due to scar tissue from previous operations. So, no fun. So, pain pills. So, funny dreams.

The one I had last night has me in a cold sweat, though, a lot due to how it FELT, which I cannot relate to you verbally, but if you read the retelling, keep in mind our current neocon-influenced world and you'll see why I'm still messed up about it.

Dream starts I'm out of work and everywhere I go to get employed I'm checked against a "list" which tells them not to hire me. No one explains the list but I see them all checking it. despondent, I start to head home. suddenly, as if scales had dropped from my eyes, I see alien devices dropping from the sky, but no one else notices. There are big ships that can transport people, but smaller devices that resemble complicated radios enveloped in clear tough plastic. These smaller devices hit the ground and then hover around, zapping people to keep them asleep and unaware of what's going on. I pickup one of the smaller devices before it can zap me and start to take it apart, to figure out how it works. Suddenly, I look up and see a paramilitary african american man talking into a walkietalkie and striding over to me.
I tell him "how can you allow this to happen to us? how can you be complicit? Don't you realize its us against them?". He just stares at me and zaps me with a hand held version of the small device, to blank me out, but something goes wrong because I'm already holding one so they cancel out. But I act like it worked so I don't get rounded up.
I spend the rest of the day walking around seeing what is REALLY going on, that I had been blinded to all along. Aliens are working side by side with our govt. forces and enslaving us for various purposes.
I then overhear a conversation from some higher ups (who don't know I can hear them), and they're discussing the overall plan....(and this is what has me creeped out after I woke up)....so here it is, in a nutshell:

The aliens need a resource that is scarce in the universe. Water is no big to recreate, and all other minerals/elements are easy pickings on asteroids. What is TRULY in scarce supply are PETROCHEMICALS. Due to Earth's unusual history, we are sitting on the largest reserves of it ANYWHERE. Until now, the aliens have been content to control countries like Britain and the US, and skim their needs off the top, hiding it behind our normal large consumptions. But something has gone wrong. The govts. have led the aliens to believe they could control the oil countries, but time and again we have lost control of them for various reasons.
The Aliens are impatient, and tired of dealing with the USA and Britain. They feel they've been fed a line of overconfident bull that they could deliver control of all the petrochemicals to the aliens on a certain schedule. Their arrogant assumptions have undone them and now the aliens are demanding complete worldwide control. They are forcing USA and Britian to step up their global control. The aliens are worried the petrochemicals will either be wasted by us and used up or rendered inaccessible as oil countries band together against the US/UK.

So, the whole neocon planning is actually an arm of the already infested alien controllers.

Now, I know its just the pain pills talking, but there are some interesting and scary parallels there with reality. What if there aren't aliens, but there are secret underground corporations/conglomerates?

1. Can you spare..
... some of those pills :)

Seriously, dreams are our minds' way of working through things. Whether your dream is merely an expression of (somewhat justified) anxiety, or some kind of premonition - well there is no way to tell.

2. LOL! no, I need them all, believe me...to your other point...
I agree the dream was working out my concerns in a narrative way. But the introduction of Aliens somehow crystalized how much of an affront this takeover of our govt. by these assholes really is. I wish I could relate the feeling of sheer BETRAYAL I felt in the dream as the guy walked over, and I initially thought he was going to help us fight the invasion, only to realize he was helping run it!!!!

3. like the WTO?
That is an interesting dream, btw.

I saw the movie "The Yes Men".

One of their things is to go to a conference in Australia and they give a talk on how the WTO is reinventing itself to better help people in countries in need. And a lot of the people (business types) actually think this is a really good thing. Of course it isn't true (that the WTO was changing) - but that was nice to know that business would support it.

I went away from the movie thinking that what we have is some sort of international fascism.

4. Too much sci/fi + pain pills=bad dreams
There are so many sci/fi elements-the water/petro thing being like the aliens' motivation in the V miniseries (well, the water and the soylent green), the list thing being kind of like "Gattica", and of course, the overall weirdness of some of the things Bush administration officials say in public.

5. check. righto, what I"m saying is look BEYOND the dream and see the
implications of the dream.
I'm not saying the dream is real. I know I'm taking pain pills. I'm saying, what the dream made me think of in relation to reality was chilling.

of course, I can't absolutely rule out alien serpent being overlords.

;)

7. Sounds like it would make a good sci-fi movie....
And it could send a subtle message to people, that they need to watch and question the Government and those who control the Government very closely.

Maybe something is there, then again, maybe it was just a dream. After all, who would have the power to control people, events, and write history?

10. My dream was less weird and a lot more fun.
I had a dream a month or so ago where I was apparently working in some office for the Dems and was told that * was in town and was going to swing by the office that day. That really pissed me off and I told them to make sure he stayed away from my office because I didn't want that bastard to come anywhere near me. He comes through and pokes his head into the office that I'm sharing with another guy. He had a stupid blank expression on his face and his forehead was all wrinkled up. The instant I see him I yell at him "Fuck off!" and he gets a kind of surprised expression on his face and turns and walks away. Then I yell at him "Get the fuck out of my state! You stole the election and everyone knows it!"

Hmm...an analysis might reveal that I may be just a bit pissed about the whole stolen election and 4 more years of *. OK. No analysis necessary. I'm extremely pissed. Ah, but it was a great dream. Now if only it would come true.

12. I dreamed about Ronald Reagan the other night...
I was in a room full of dozens of people who were sleeping. The sound of footsteps woke me up, and I saw Ron Reagan, back from the dead, creeping into the room with a knife!

I tried to scream to wake everyone up, but I couldn't, because I was vomiting.

Then Reagan stabbed me and I woke up.

Analyze that, Dr. Freud!

14. get well soon
So sorry to hear about your surgery. I also had gallbladder surgery a couple years ago and unfortunately suffered a wound infection that was hard to treat...all healed now, thank goodness.

Dreams are so weird especially when pain is a factor. I had the worst nightmare myself only two days ago (no drugs included) of an orange nuclear blast in the sky. It was just horror.

I hope you feel better soon.
