Bush Talks about "Discipline"

George W. Bush wants to cut food stamps. He wants cut health care for veterans. He wants to cut health care for the poor.

Bush wants to increase military spending. Bush wants to increase the national debt by extending his tax cuts for the rich.

How does Bush explain this 2006 proposed budget? It's about discipline ("Bush: Congress must bring discipline to federal spending" by Luke Frazza, AP via USA Today, reporting on Bush speech on Tuesday in Michigan to Detroit Economic Club, article and speech Feb. 8, 2005):

"Congress needs to join with me to bring real spending discipline to the federal budget," Bush said to applause from automotive executives and others Michigan leaders jammed wall-to-wall at tables in a large room at Cobo Hall. "Spending discipline requires difficult choices."

Where was Bush's disipline when he deserted the National Guard?

Where is Bush's discipline today in his lack of focus on Osama Bin Laden, who is trying to nuke us?

Bush went from saying Osama bin Laden is 'wanted dead or alive" to saying about bin Laden, "You know, I just don't spend that much time on him. ... I truly am not that concerned about him."

Bill O'Reilly said on Aug. 7, 2001 about the Paula Jones' sexual harassment suit against Bill Clinton ("O'Reilly on Sexual Harassment: In His Own Words" by fair.org via Common Dreams, Oct. 25, 2004):

There is a strong movement in America to remove any kind of value-based argument. We see this all the time.... Public officials have the right to lie about sex because it is no one's business what they do in private, even if sexual harassment suits are lodged against them, i.e., President Clinton...Many Americans simply cannot or will not make judgments about behavior.

The danger here is that the absence of value-based judgments breaks down justice and discipline.

If only all of us could muster the discipline Bill O'Reilly showed when he made unwanted phone calls to Andrea Mackis about her "spectacular boobs." I guess if he chose a phone where his wife couldn't overhear, that shows a degree of discipline.

5. in bush's world 'DISCIPLINE' is code word for what other tyrants call

SACRIFICE FOR THE MOTHERLAND. He just doesn't have the balls to say it like that right now, A) because he is a yellow jacket coward and B) because he is still trying to confuse followers as to the real nature of his governance...something that he will disclose when it is too late for anyone to do anything about it except for people to look for another country to move to...as thousands of refugees have done for hundreds of years all throughout history. we never thought it could happen here. GWB brought that reality to us.

9. Bush need to learn to stay "on task." He seems a little attention

deficit. He is at war, but throws a 50 million dollar party. Now he's running all over the nation stumping for the destruction of social security. Hey, what about the war and getting us the hell out of there? He just doesn't spend much time on that...He's truly is not that concerned about it.
