Gannon/Guckert CIA or shadow-government plant?
I think it odd that he also had all these websites up. Is it possible that he was using the internet porn industry in the same way that the drug market is used to raise funds for their schemes? Or is there too much tin-foil hat to that conjecture?

1. You are very astute!
I know people in the Internet porn industry who have made this conjecture in the past.

3. conjecture
I'm guessing you used the word "conjecture" because it sounds like a "big word." It does fit though, as it means guesswork without evidence. Sounds like most CTers to me!!! LOL

"Inference or judgment based on inconclusive or incomplete evidence; guesswork."

"A judgment, estimate, or opinion arrived at by guessing"

4. I use exactly the word I mean.
It is guesswork. They were taking a few facts;

- Offshore porn businesses taking in a lot of money by overcharging credit cards.
- The impossibility of determining who owns same.
- The total lack of Justice Department interest in this fraud.

And they jump to the conclusion that it might be a CIA money raising operation like the cocaine operations of yore, but without the trouble of smuggling.

Pure conjecture.

But they have discussed this possibility regularly.

5. Not that crazy an idea.
During Iran/Contra I used to think it was strange that in order to get money the gov't would have to resort to crime. I mean, couldn't they just print it???

Apparently not. Secret operations have to be funded somehow.
