3. I think he is going to

give all Americans $5 million per family. Then we can all be republicans and happy. We won't have to worry about frizzling law suits, because we will all wear leisure suits. We can open our southern boarders and safely allow poor people in to work for a nice reduced minimum wage. Then they can be happy, too.

I love the plan to teach inner city kids respect and non-violence. They need to learn this before boot camp, however, if we expect them to hold Islamic culture in total distain and to destroy it in as violent a manner as possible.

We need to encourage Christmas values in our schools. I think we should put President Jesus on the $10 bill. If he wasn't president, then he must have discovered America. It's good he helped exterminate the Indians. Look at the trouble Ward Churchless causes in colleges across the nation.

We need medical advances. Lobotomy for you, lobotomy for me. Senator Bill Friskie is willing to head up the bi=partison congressional group to study this proposal.

I want Sgt Barry Sadler's "Fighting Soldiers" to become the new Nation Anthem. All rise!

4. How could parents
of a soldier killed in Iraq possibly come and show support for this administration? Is it the most severe form of denial? Or do they really think this war was worth their son's life?

5. Denial
Edited on Thu Feb-03-05 07:55 AM by LynnTheDem
It's next to impossible to live with the knowledge of your child's death regardless of circumstances. When you admit the truth, that it was for a whopping pile of stinking bullshit, that makes it even more difficult. Some parents have killed themselves. Others have joined various groups to speak out against war-criminal bush.

And others refuse to even admit to the fact that there was no "WMD" and hadn't been since the early 1990s. I know 2 families here at Hood that insist "WMD" were found & their kids died to keep that 911-murderer Hussein from attacking us with his "WMD".

Check out gold star mothers Cindy Sheehan versus Lynda "I'd be wearing a burka now" Unger.

Link:

"Iraq was never going to attack us," says Sheehan.

"If we just sit back and don't do anything, they're going to overrun us," says Unger.

Unger's son Daniel, 19, was killed by shrapnel in Iraq. But it was his own small hometown, Exeter, Calif., that his mother believes he was defending.

"If we'd waited any longer, I would be wearing a burka," says Unger.

Forget the fact that Hussein's Iraq was secular and didn't wear burkas, or the fact that Iraq never had any desire, intent or capability to "overrun us". Denial gets her through the day.

6. That is so sad.
Early on in the war, there was a father on tv, talking about the death of his son. He said, approximately, "My only child has died, and for what?" I recognized that pain: years ago, one of my close friends was killed when some railroad workers, for a "prank", hung a cable (unmarked) on a blind curve on an old abandoned railroad bed that ran near the railroad they worked on. The local police had told us to ride our motorcycles on the old bed. My friend was killed. I remember the pain that his parents experienced. His mother never recovered. She died a few years later, and it was definitely from the loss of her child. Maybe if she could have lived a lie, she would still be alive. But she couldn't, and she died.
