Cable News Networks Marching in Lockstep Presenting BushCo. Propaganda
Same stories, same talking points, same "stepford" anchors, same adverisers. America is realizing the next evolution of fascism and this time the techniques of propaganda using the medium of television have been perfected. Decades of experience by major corporations at developing advertising techniques to influence mass audiences is the final ingredient to merge the power of corporations with the power of the state.

2. I think they're blowing it, personally.

Propaganda in the US has been fantastically successful for decades precisely because it was so slick. We got Madison Ave. to come up with alot of our most basic propaganda positions.

I think they're overplaying their hand on cable news. They're giving an obviously bullshit policy the hard sell. Most everybody I talk to laughs at cable news- like the Soviets laughed at Pravda.

I think they are"overplaying" their hand......I haven't been able to watch Cable news since last Thursday night when the hyp to "IRAQ VOTES"..."VICTORY FOR BUSH" crap started building up...this is just too much...can't watch it at all.

4. agree
I flipped on Headline News last night and they were showing a clip of the chimp's statement yesterday with the caption "VICTORY SPEECH".

It's a little too soon to proclaim 'victory', although these people never learn from history. If the vote throws out his current puppet and installs what will turn out to be an increasingly theocratic government (not that I disapprove, it's their country) will this be a big 'victory' for democracy? Tools.

5. I've made that mistake before, dude
I will NEVER underestimate the stupidity of the American People again.

Sure, any 'reasonable, rational' person would see the hard-sell tactics on cable news plain as day, but I find fewer and fewer reasonable, rational people in this country every day.

6. Oh, don't get me wrong-
I don't think that most people would recognize the problem even if Stalin-esque statues of Bush started going up on every block. Not most, but enough.

I think it's interesting that over the last four years, as the corporatocracy's workings have become more and more obvious, there's been a simultaneous assault on personal liberties. As people start to actually see how the system works, the system tries harder and harder to shut them up.
