How many expect to get the truth about this 'election'?
I mean, does anyone really think we will hear anything but a victory for the Iraqi people? The media has already started about how many Iraqi's have voted in this election. It's not until the third or fourth paragraph of these propoganda articles that you realize these voters live outside of Iraq.

If the turnout is less than 20%, or a great number write in a vote for Saddam, do you think we will ever hear about it?

Is there really any way that we can prove it? Hell no!!! It sure is a helpless feeling when you know your own country's media and government lie to you.

1. We can't even get the truth about elections here!
No way will we ever get the truth about Iraq. We'll get propaganda 24/7 from Bushco and the corporate media whores.

2. It's the Peter King syndrome -
"The election's over and we won - and we'll count the votes."
He said this way before Nov. 2nd. How did he know? Hmmmmmmm?
Iraq - same-o same-o

3. Blogs from Iraq
After reading some of the blogs coming from those who are in Iraq <in hiding probably>, it would seem that the majority of the population, that they were seeing, were leaving town. Tanks with soldiers are coming around, pointing guns/cannons at people in large groups, telling them to not forget to vote.. Today of course, the cities and country are in lockdown. No one in and no one out. Must be pleasant <NOT>

The only thing we're gonna hear is how much of a success this election is. Expect nothing else.

Which is okay if it is that, not okay if it's not.

5. Sadly, the one way we might hear the truth is if
this election is a full-blown failure, i.e., very violent and deadly. Otherwise, everyone will be spinning like crazy about how great and historic a day it was. I'm just hoping there are non-partisan 'watchers' over there that won't sugar coat what's going on.

Welcome to DU, Cassandra.

Not really, but there are hundreds...most people don't even know the NAMES, let alone their "positions."...

8. I meant American watchers, as in the
press or anyone else over there that can afford to tell the truth. There ARE some honest reporters; I look forward to hearin' all about it.

7. What news source will have the most honest election coverage and
the true story of what is going on over there. The whole thing seems pretty meaningless, the Sunni's are shut out of the process and things will get even worse.
