PNAC posted a new letter to Congress today (Increase US Troops)
Dear God! I LOVE how blunt these bastards are!

http://www.newamericancentury.org/defense-20050128.htm

Dear Senator Frist, Senator Reid, Speaker Hastert, and Representative Pelosi:

The United States military is too small for the responsibilities we are asking it to assume. Those responsibilities are real and important. They are not going away. The United States will not and should not become less engaged in the world in the years to come. But our national security, global peace and stability, and the defense and promotion of freedom in the post-9/11 world require a larger military force than we have today. The administration has unfortunately resisted increasing our ground forces to the size needed to meet today's (and tomorrow's) missions and challenges.

So we write to ask you and your colleagues in the legislative branch to take the steps necessary to increase substantially the size of the active duty Army and Marine Corps. While estimates vary about just how large an increase is required, and Congress will make its own determination as to size and structure, it is our judgment that we should aim for an increase in the active duty Army and Marine Corps, together, of at least 25,000 troops each year over the next several years.

Other notable quotes:

Yet after almost two years in Iraq and almost three years in Afghanistan, it should be evident that our engagement in the greater Middle East is truly, in Condoleezza Rice's term, a "generational commitment."

We do insist that we act responsibly to create the military we need to fight the war on terror and fulfill our other responsibilities around the world.

84. My son graduated in 2000
Several of his friends went in the military and are getting out as soon as their contracts expires. They are very happy civilians.

Before my son's friends started coming home he didn't seem to see the warning signs of Bush's policies, but he wants nothing to do with the military now.

One of his high school friends called him from Iraq the other morning.
Seemed to make quite an impression. I don't know what his friends have told him, but he's very anti-bush now.

Seems to me that the soldiers are running as fast as they can. You know, the ones that don't appear on T.V.

3. Yea, how?
Recruiters have consistently fallen short of their goals even after pouring millions more into the effort.

Even with increasing sign on bonuses, benefits, etc. I don't think the military could draw 25,000 more each year.

Without a draft, of course.

These people scare me.

4. We can sign the signatories of PNAC up first.
We need administrators in Iraq. Jeb Bush, Doug Feith, Richard Perle and the rest would be great. Good luck fellas, I hear this war will finance itself. Watch out for those things the Iraqis are throwing, they ain't roses.

Oh, and by the way PNAC, go fuck yourselves.

I'm sure American's would love to hear the ENTIRE story about the PNAC! Especially when they are so bold as to openly request (demand) more troops!

Shall we all write?

I know where I can get my hands on a media list, PDQ...

I'm sure there's one here, as well.

Oh, Kei---iii---th! Keith Olbermann.... (he'd do it - but I'm not banking on much of anyone else - save Jon Stewart).

Edited on Fri Jan-28-05 03:27 PM by TwoSparkles
Dear PNACers,

Thank you so much for your kind letter. I noticed it was written in blood. I assume that's the blood of 1,400 American soldiers--because that's what all of you fucking pieces of shit have all over your hands.

The last thing this country needs is more advice from a bunch of war-mongering Hitler youth. In other words, shut...the...fuck...up.

If you want to play big-boy war games--either buy yourself a nice game of Battleship (available from Hasbro for $14.99) or send yourselves over to the Middle East and do the fighting yourselves.

You miserable, mutant, power-obsessed, rabid devil-dog fuckwits.

Love and Kisses,
America

It comes off sounding like a whacko tinfoil conspiracy idea. They never will get it, and I think that's exactly the way PNAC planned it; hide it in plain sight. Sadly, they might be receptive to hearing about the evil plan when the shit hits the fan, but it will be too late by then.

Further, the process of transformation,
even if it brings revolutionary change, is
likely to be a long one, absent some
catastrophic and catalyzing event like a
new Pearl Harbor.
Domestic politics and
industrial policy will shape the pace and
content of transformation as much as the
requirements of current missions.

Maybe I just fell off the turnip truck, but I though the PNAC scum was strictly Republican?

If DLC members are signing on--that would explain a few things--like the party becoming "Republican-Lite" and also some of Liebermans' pro-Bush, pro-war ramblings.

In addition, the seemingly cozy relationship that Bill and Hillary have with the Bush's takes on new light as well.

Are we slowly evolving from a two-party system--Reps and Dems--to a one-party system controlled by the PNACers?

(((sigh)))
Life was much easier when I was a Dem loyalist and was content watching CNN a few hours a day. :(

23. So, the question is: are Reid and Pelosi up to speed on the PNAC agenda?
If they are not familiar with this group,...and its agenda,...someone, somewhere in their party is doing a pee peer poor job of keeping informed.

Perhaps, Senator Reid and Representative Pelosi need a written notice of intent to hold them responsible for their actions with an outline of information pertaining PNAC, sent RETURN RECEIPT, such that we are assured that they know the warring winds that are approaching them. Even a FAX with a message: "notice of PNAC and intent to hold responsible",....would be adequate.

Its one thing to have conspiracies in smoky back rooms. Its quite another to hide out in the open and publish what you plan to do. I was never surprised that we would go back into Iraq, it was never a secret in the first place, and going into Iran or another Middle Eastern nation wouldn't surprise me in the least. Notice the term "greater Middle East(emphasis mine)". They have been gunning for Iraq since the end of the First Gulf War, and gunning for Iran since 1980, is this surprising to anyone?

Puhlease tell me you are kidding?

The neoCONimperialists' plan has certainly NOT been "out in the open".

These people are merely radicals whose "plans" have NEVER been "out in the open",...meaning WIDELY DISTRIBUTED OR KNOWN.

Only their own little circle would view such plans as "out in the open and published". The rest of this country and world do NOT orient around these radical neofascistimperialists!!!

I don't intend to vent AT you.

I just find the suggestion that these radicals' ideology was somehow well-known a HUGE deviation from either reality or the truth.

Edited on Fri Jan-28-05 04:58 PM by Solon
The details are sketchy at best, however, you can look on their website itself, it is not classified material. Everything from '92 to today is there, and also the next decade at least has been planned out. I'll give you a hint, war and more war to control most of the world's oil, so we can again have a big stick to lord over the world economy. I never said it was well known, just not a secret, there is a difference, and the media, Gods damn their souless hearts, has been complicit in underreporting this. Their entire master plan, if you will, is free to anyone who looks, you can look at the entire plan, and once you do, none of this is a surprise.

Most Americans are busting their asses to make ends meet,...to "keep up" with our corporate media's depiction of "American Life" which is total fiction.

The majority of Americans simply do NOT have the time to be knowledgeable about what their "representatives" are doing. They rely on sound bites,...and they believe "representatives" operate on superior ethical standards.

Our people are just doing the best they can under a tyrannical leadership they still believe they should trust.

Travel our country. Discover it.

Don't miss the "hidden" America.

Our people are struggling with the disappointment of never having some "American Dream" within their grasp. Yet, they consume humility every single day,...as if,...it's their fault and they must grind away.

LOCAL BOARDS

A Selective Service Local Board is a group of five citizen volunteers whose mission, upon a draft, will be to decide who among the registrants in their community will receive deferments, postponements, or exemption from military service based on the individual registrant's circumstances and beliefs.

How Local Board Members are Appointed
Local Board members are appointed by the Director of Selective Service in the name of the President, on recommendations made by their respective state governors or an equivalent public official. If you are interest in serving as a Local Board member, you may apply on-line for an application package. Some requirements to be a board member are that they be:

U.S. citizens

at least 18 years old

not a retired or active member of the Armed Forces or any Reserve component

live in the area in which the board has jurisdiction

be willing to spend enough time at the position.

During Peacetime
The Board Member program is one of the primary components of the Selective Service System. Over 11,000 volunteers are currently trained in Selective Service regulations and procedures so that if a draft is reinstated, they will be able to fulfill their obligations fairly and equitably. Board members undergo an initial 12-hour training session and then participate in annual training in which they review sample cases similar to real-life situations.

During a Draft
Registrants with low lottery numbers will be ordered to report for a physical, mental, and moral evaluation at a Military Entrance Processing Station to determine whether they are fit for military service. Once he is notified of the results of the evaluation, a registrant will be given 10 days to file a claim for exemption, postponement, or deferment. At that time, board members will begin reviewing and deciding the outcome of the individual registrant's case. They may personally interview the registrant and persons who know him to gain a better understanding of his situation. A man may appeal a Local Board's decision to a Selective Service District Appeal Board.

88. It's still there, along w/signup page for school faculty/staff Registrars.
Edited on Sat Jan-29-05 05:03 AM by djmaddox1
Such a charming touch. They added "Thank you for your concern for the students enrolled at your school." Concern so they should sign them up for war before they're out of school?

/snip

https://www4.sss.gov/hsregistrar/Form3.htm
Do not use this form to register with the Selective Service System. This form is for high school faculty and staff use only. To register on-line with Selective Service, men should go to
http://www4.sss.gov/regver/register.asp .

If you are a high school faculty or staff member, please complete the information below to begin your enrollment as a High School Registrar. Thank you for your concern for the students enrolled at your school.
-----
on edit:I see, it's concern lest they procrastinate if left register for the draft on their own! How considerate of our schools, wouldn't want to be graduating a bunch of draft dodgers, would we? ASSES!

http://www.sss.gov/reg1.htm
THE HIGH SCHOOL REGISTRAR PROGRAM
Many High Schools in the United States nominate a counselor, teacher or other staff member to be a Selective Service Registrar. Registrars provide an important service, helping to make sure that students register with the Selective Service.

http://www.sss.gov/reg4.htm
Q: What registration supplies are provided to the Registrar?
A: Upon appointment, Registrars will receive the following items: (1) Selective Service Registration Forms (SSS Form 1), (2) postage-paid envelopes for returning completed registration forms to Selective Service, (3) registration information brochures for students: Selective Service and You -Time to Register, (4) a display poster, (5) a Registrar handbook: Information for Registrars for the Selective Service System, and (6) a supply order form for requesting additional supplies.

Q: Most of the students get a reminder registration card in the mail, why do they need Registrars?
A: Not all young men receive reminder registration cards in the mail. Also, even those who receive a card in the mail often procrastinate completing their registration. Timely registration reduces the delay and disqualification many students could experience if their registration obligation were not fulfilled at the time they turn 18 years of age. Therefore, it is important that all young men are made aware of the requirement to register, and register on time.

A SOBERING EXPOSURE OF THE CARLYLE GROUP

<snip>
If youre not familiar with them, the Carlyle Group has become a powerhouse in affecting the direction in which our foreign policy takes, especially in regard to war. They accomplish this by hiring former government officials, then investing in private companies that are subject to government change (i.e. the military and telecommunications). Who, you may ask, do they employ to secure their government contracts? Well, check-out this list for starters:

Frank Carlucci -
Department of Health, Education and Welfare - 1970s
Deputy Director, CIA - 1978-81
Deputy Secretary of Defense - 1981-82
National Security Director - 1987-89

George Bush -
CIA Director - 1976-77
Vice President of the United States - 1981-89
President of the United States - 1989-93

James Baker -
Chief of Staff - 1981-85
Secretary of the Treasury - 1985-89
Secretary of State - 1989-93

Dick Darman - Former White House Budget Chief
William Kennard - Former Head, FCC
Arthur Levitt - Former Head, SEC
John Major - Former Prime Minister, Britain

55. Please do NOT confuse "associations" with the core sponsors.
Hell,....I could be listed as being "associated" with you!!!!

LISTEN!!!!!

Many of those "associations" are as tenuous as this administration's links concerning WMDs and 9/11 links to Iraq.

If the CORE of this PNAC group isn't obvious to you, particularly given current events,...I just don't know what to say.

All I know is that,...there is a core radical group which is hurting our people and spreading destruction. That core radical group simply precludes the "associations" which you include as part of a "conspiracy" against our country/people.

70. Did you see the top of the post? I thought it was clear!
The people are identified as being connected-either LISTED on the organizations WEBSITE or their names appear as authors/contributors on OFFICIAL PNAC DOCUMENTS! The info. is said to be current as of 12/04! It's on the net under information clearing house! The CORE of the PNAC IS OBVIOUS to me! I would never intentionally mislead anyone! These names are listed on the orgs. website or their names appear on official PNAC docs...their connection is hardly tenuous! Where have I used the word "associations" or "conspiracy"? Yes, I suppose one could say we both post at DU, therefore you and I are "associated"! I know one thing for certain! My name is not on the DU website nor does my name appear on any official DU documents! I don't know what to say...just trying to help out! Sorry if I upset you! PEACE!

Which boards, which portfolios will grow fat if such a "suggestion" is followed?

Can the blood actually be seen dripping from their fangs in group shots?

89. Specifically, they are looking for ground pounders. You know, the ones ...
most likely to be maimed or killed! I would think that they would be much more likely to revive the draft for ground troops than just a 'general' beefing up of all the services.
/snip
And we can afford both the necessary number of ground troops and what is needed for transformation of the military.

/snip
There is abundant evidence that the demands of the ongoing missions in the greater Middle East, along with our continuing defense and alliance commitments elsewhere in the world, are close to exhausting current U.S. ground forces.

/snip
"generational commitment" Sounds like they better start breeding progrommes, looks like they plan on raiding the crops for a long time?
