1. 66% of Dems cannot recall a Dem candidate?
Not likely.

3. Most people aren't paying attention yet

Only the people in early primary states (and political junkies) know anything. The general public might start caring next January, but real interest in the race won't pick up until next summer.

7. This is pretty much true...
...I called my dad two weeks ago, who's a super-Democrat, and he hadn't really looked into the candidates either. He said he read something about Dean but he didn't know who Kucinich was either.

4. Chimpy is sliding off the mountain into a snake pit. Nothing can save
him. He's like a used up prostitute. He's delivered the $$$$$ and now his mission's over. The best he can hope for is to get a bridge or airport named for him.

Dean is a bit early in his #'s but had to be. He needs to pull back for the next few weeks and let the 'DLC power brokers' get comfortable with what has happened. The DLC/old time politicos will make the decision by their actions or to whether we have a slugfest or relative calm. This is the first REAL test for the Dean campaign. Everything's been easy for them up to this point. I'm sure they're surprised at the oppositions' mistakes to this point.

5. I think this poll is a lie to make Democrats look really dumb/uninvolved!
Edited on Sat Jul-12-03 01:29 PM by KoKo01
66% of Americans don't recall any candidates is ridiculous. If they were that clueless they would at least name Al Gore because so many folks thought he would run again. So, I don't believe this poll at all.

We have to remember that all the Media does is spin, spin, spin.

Just because things are looking bad for Chimpy doesn't mean the "media whores" have truly put back on their panties.

8. But he is a name familiar to even clueless Dems...that's my point!
That such a high number of Dems wouldn't know any candidates who are running they would have not wanted to look that dumb and said Gore. So that's why I don't believe the poll.

Dems are brighter than Repugs! They would at least name a name everyone knew when asked by a pollster.
