US used sex in attempts to force confessions at Guantánamo, ex-GI alleges
Which is more shocking: the allegation of sexual torture of inmates or of making sex part of a female soldier's job description?

Ex-G.I. Writes About Use of Sex in Guantánamo Interrogations
By THE ASSOCIATED PRESS

SAN JUAN, P.R., Jan. 27 (AP) - Female interrogators tried to break male Muslim detainees at the United States prison camp in Guantánamo Bay, Cuba, by sexually touching them, by wearing miniskirts and thong underwear, and, in one case, by smearing a Saudi man's face with red ink, which he was led to believe was menstrual blood, according to part of a draft manuscript written by a former Army sergeant.

The manuscript, which was obtained by The Associated Press, was written by Erik R. Saar, who was an Arabic translator at Guantánamo from December 2002 to June 2003.

Mr. Saar, 29, did not provide the manuscript, but he did confirm the authenticity of nine draft pages obtained by The A.P. He asked that his hometown remain private so he would not be harassed.

The manuscript is classified as secret pending a Pentagon review for a book Mr. Saar is writing about the military's use of women as part of tougher physical and psychological interrogation tactics against terrorism suspects. a woman working as a civilian contractor had used an outfit that included a miniskirt and thong underwear during interrogations of prisoners that included Muslim men, who consider close contact taboo with women who are not their wives.

In another case, Mr. Saar's manuscript describes a military woman interrogating an uncooperative

1. Probably not
a soldier, probably one of those $1000-plus-per-day contractors.

Or an employee of same (which would technically make CACI a pimp).

3. The article says nothing about these being contractors
but you're right, if that's what they are, they're prostitutes and CACI is the pimp. There's no way to clean that fact up. I was wondering if Israel uses this technique and doubting that they do. This sounds like a Bushist innovation.

5. I find this so unbelievable!
That a professional woman would stoop to such behavior is beyond me.

12. "That a professional woman would stoop to such behavior is beyond me"
It's the oldest profession.

And sex has been used in military intelligence gathering almost as long.

6. Uhm, Am I bad for not seeing anything wrong with that?
It looks like a win-win.

  1. Woman gets to know she can break any man with her sexuality. A plus on the self-esteem category
  2. Detainee gets some pretty nice treatment

    1. Doesn't have shit on own self
    2. Doesn't have to ejaculate on other detainee
    3. Doesn't have to stand on box with electric nodes on fingers
    4. Doesn't have to have dogs barking at them

  3. U.S. gets information, albeit, nothing they say now has any value.

8. Analyze this:
Wake up people!

Look at where this "headliner" is coming from.

The MSM/CRM which is so hated by some here.

In fact it has a name:
"The Rove Maneuver (or manure)"

1. Bad news is about to break.
2. Blast out some trivial, but, associated news.
3. Scream the smoke screen as loud and long as possible.
4. Lift butt cheek.
5. Sneak out the real stinker.
6. Move to next disaster requiring a cover up.

Really! I've heard the Nazi's used similar tactics. The
tactic of a lie where the opposite isn't the truth either.

I've seen it more times than I can count.

10. Sex? Christian Perverts !!!
They are the ones who condone this behavior.

Consider the following argument based on valid deductive reasoning which explains their beliefs:

Sex is sinful.
Sin is punished.
Therefore, Sex is punishing sin !

This is a subconscious logical conclusion that one would come to without much effort if they believed the first two premises were true.

This is why they love spanking kids, killing in wars, condemning people to hell, and looking for any other "socially acceptable" outlet for their "socially unacceptable" behaviors.

How many times have you heard a gun-laden fundi say:
If they broke into my home, I would shoot em twice before they could get out. If they did, then I would drag em back inside and shoot em again! They are almost praying for this situation to occur so they can justify killing someone.

15. Hi, Bluebear.
I'm pretty creeped out by Abu Gonzales.

If you get a moment, please consider writing to your senators to oppose his nomination.

16. Hi again, Bluebear.
This is way off the topic, but I like your screen name and your avatar.

It really sticks with me. And it's real positive.

I hope you'll accept a 'thank you' for it. I like seeing it on DU.

Also: please keep New Hampshire blue.

I am proud that we were the only state to 'go blue" this year. As to writing my Senators Gregg and Sununu, they are in lockstep with Smirk, unfortunately.

19. If this is true
If this is true, and I have no reason to doubt Mr. Saar's testimony based on the other crimes the Junta has committed, we are a very sick society.

And this is some BAD karma that will come back to bite us in a rabid, you need a dozen shots in the stomach with a long needle sort of way.
