Please read: Troops are asking for food
Saw this on Bartcop.com:

Subject: the soldiers need help (www.anysoldier.com)

Are you aware they need food? On anysoldier.com there are requests for some food. There is a captain currently requesting Listerine as many are sick and they want to avoid others getting sick and rubber gloves to help stop spreading the sore throat and sickness.

They said the food in mess is so riddled with bacteria they are trying to avoid it (thank you very much Halliburton). Women soldiers have no Tampax or similar products for their periods. The water problem is a serious problem. And this waste of human flesh president dances the night away wasting money that could help our troops.
I am so angry I am shaking.

They are asking that we send them microwavable items as they are trying to avoid mess food since it's contaminated. Also if they are in the field and miss meals it's too bad. They also need transformers as the power is 220 and they have 110 voltage items. If you go to anysoldier.com you will see requests. It is so unbelievable. Someone has to do something.

We are sending top ramen as this was requested and Tampax to the women. We also sent some Easy Mac. We aren't well off but send what we can when we can. Dammit this president is so evil. So GD evil!!!!

Sue

You might have to rearrange some heads, but the effect is the same.

7. And this one's going to Auschwitz on Thursday?
Any comment I could make at this point, would only be deleted.

How tragic for our soldiers that they're enduring this 'hell' while last week 12 Innaugural Balls, and how much wasted food...at $250,000/plate. And our soldiers need water and tampons?!!!!! Arghhh!!

and wrote home because they didn't have enough blankets to stay warm.
That pisses me off that our soldiers are cold every night until someone from home sends them blankets to be warm.
Evil evil evil.

illegal "war/action". You could have all refused and just said no. You don't have the flu, welcome to a "du" contaminated universe.

Not as in democraticunderground but as in depleted uraninium. Goes well with the video games being played out.

http://www.caduceus.info/articles/denver.htm

The horror of Depleted Uranium is not limited to Iraq – it may well
be at our doorsteps. The information which some governments
are concealing is presented here.

By James Denver

'I’m horrified. The people out there – the Iraqis, the media and the troops – risk the most appalling ill health. And the radiation from depleted uranium can travel literally anywhere. It’s going to destroy the lives of thousands of children, all over the world. We all know how far radiation can travel. Radiation from Chernobyl reached Wales and in Britain you sometimes get red dust from the Sahara on your car.’

The speaker is not some alarmist doom-sayer. He is Dr Chris Busby, the British radiation expert, Fellow of the University of Liverpool in the Faculty of Medicine and UK representative on the European Committee on Radiation Risk, talking about the best kept secret of this war: the fact that, by illegally using hundreds of tons of depleted uranium (DU) against Iraq, Britain and America have gravely endangered not only the Iraqis but the whole world. For these weapons have released deadly, carcinogenic and mutagenic, radioactive particles in such abundance that – whipped up by sandstorms and carried on trade winds – there is no corner of the globe they cannot penetrate – including Britain. For the wind has no boundaries and time is on their side: the radioactivity persists for over 4,500,000,000 years and can cause cancer, leukaemia, brain damage, kidney failure, and extreme birth defects – killing millions of every age for centuries to come. A crime against humanity which may, in the eyes of historians, rank with the worst atrocities of all time.

More on the video games later.

on edit, link is fixed.

16. Well, I just read most of the messages on the first page
and didn't get the sense that anybody's starving or sickly. May I ask where that comes from, RV?

I did see one request for "anything that will help with colds" and a lot of references to MREs "getting old." I also got the sense that they are being deliberately upbeat, and I couldn't help noticing how many of them - almost all - ask for really basic personal hygeine products. And a lot of them do ask for hand sanitizers.

It did not get the impression the Army does a good job of providing for its people, much less taking care of them. I saw construction engineers and mechanics asking for tools and knee pads and gloves and stuff - hello! And black or brown T-shirts? And socks. But there are also a lot of requests for books, magazines, movies, and music. Sounds like it's mostly just boring when they're not doing their jobs. And dirty.

I have to say, though, I'm not too moved by the one who calls the Army "an awesome gun club."

Which is not to say the fact that soldiers have to ask strangers for shampoo and snacks doesn't make me angry. It does. The whole thing makes me angry. They shouldn't be there at all, in Afghanistan or Iraq. Eight million dollars an hour, and the fuckers apparently don't even feel obligated to provide toothpaste.

I'm just wondering where this idea that the food's all contaminated and everyone's sick is coming from.

18. I've said it before, but, I guess I will have to say it again...
We have to just stop paying taxes. Just say no to war, don't let your kids go, don't go yourself, and just say no to taxes. Not paying our taxes will not deprive the troops, because, they are not getting our taxpayer money anyway, it is all being skimmed off the top by Halliburton, Shrub, Big Dick, and their ShrubBuddies. It doesn't matter how much money we give them, they don't spend it on the troops, they have parties with it instead. Laura got a new designer gown to wear to every one of those 12 inaugural balls, as well as a $700 dollar haircut, and I am pretty sure, if the Drunken Shrub Twins needed a tampon, they got one. They don't spend our taxes on education, they wage drug wars with it. They don't spend it on health care, they give the drug companies research funds with it. These fascist pigs will keep taking our money as long as we will let them, and they will never spend any of it on the public good. Stop paying taxes. This is why it is legal for us to stop paying taxes. Taxation without representation is unconstitutional. They didn't count our votes, therefore, we have no representation, therefore we do not owe any taxes. When SOME of us stop paying taxes, it will be like a little drip in the dam, but when ENOUGH of us stop paying taxes, that will be flood they cannot fraudulently fix. Such an effort would shut down the government in short order. No taxes, no paychecks. Demand impeachment and another, legitimate, valid, fraud-less election. When they count our votes, we will pay taxes again. Until then, let the Congress, the Senate, and the Supremes all cash in their IRAs to pay the rent. When our government gets responsive to us, we'll give them some money, along with some instructions to get our troops home NOW.

I am forwarding this to everyone on my email list and I am getting a package together to send over. I am so pissed off right now... how dare this president spend $40 mil on an inauguration while these soldiers are asking for basic hygiene supplies. Something is very wrong here.
