Forget about the Iraq Nukes claim. It is a minor issue.
Once again the news entertainment networks distract us ( http://tvnewslies.org/html/distraction.html ) from the real issues facing our nation and the world.

The current focus on the one sentence in the SOTU speech is not the real issue. The real issue or I should say the real lie has to do with the fact that America has been told that invading Iraq was part of the war on terror. This is the big lie ladies and gentlemem.

1. There were no known links between Iraq and Al Quaeda - http://tvnewslies.org/html/al_quaeda_links.html
2. It was not about the WMDs. - http://www.rcnv.org/rcnv/archives/hermangoeringrecruiting.htm
3. The Bush/PNAC administration had plans to invade Iraq dating back to the late 90s. - http://tvnewslies.org/html/smoking_gun.html
4. The entire terror crisis is a load of crap. - http://tvnewslies.org/html/terror_myth.html
5 Do you want to know why we are there? - Look into Dick Cheney's energy policy meeting notes. http://tvnewslies.org/html/cheney_s_secrets.html. I am sure you will find plans to acquire Iraqi oil and plans to build a pipeline in Afghanastan.

Do you acutually think that there is more terror activity today than there was prior to 9/11 or are we just hearing about it so that we remain frightened? (http://www.rcnv.org/rcnv/archives/hermangoeringrecruiting.htm) I think the latter. I would love to see statistics on threats and chatter now as compared to 5 years ago.

We are being duped every day on every issue and it is the fault of the TV News Networks.

When 23% of the nation thinks that WMDs were used against us in Iraq who's fault is this?
When over 50% of the nation thinks that Iraq was responsible for 9/11 who's fault is this?
When we dump French wine into the street because we do not know that in the past 20 years France used the UNSC veto 3 times while we, the US used it 31 times who's fault is this?

IT IS THE FAULT OF THE MEDIA! Real information is available in print, although you have to search around for it; but it is the TV news networks (http://tvnewslies.org/html/the_networks.html) that misinform us and distract us daily!

Where is the outrage?

2. Minor or not
Edited on Sat Jul-12-03 09:29 AM by bowens43
EVERY issue is an important issue. The ultimate goal is getting the idiot out of office. The 'lied about WMD' issue is one that the average american can grasp. If you start talking to them about PNAC there eyes will glaze over and they will be watching reruns of the Simpsons in their head the whole time you're talking. Every issue has it's time and place in our war against the regime. Every issue is a bullet fired at the political heart of the evil megalomaniacs who have hijacked our government. Some issues do less damage then others but we don't know which issues will bring him down. So we keep firing, we keep taking shots and little by little the wall that protects them crumbles.

Enough of my rant. Say 'look at these issues too'....don't say 'forget this issue'......or any issue.

Now, all the issues you bring up are important, very important and those of us who are political by nature realize that, but we also need issues for mass consumption, issues for the people who's world view is based entirely on 30 second sound bites. They are the ones who will ultimately decide who will be elected in 04.

Never forget any of it, never stop talking about any of it.

3. Good point....but....
Good point but I never said that we should not address the current issue. Maybe I should made that clear.

The problem is that their spin on this is that the American people still think that we should have invaded Iraq. This is because they think Iraq was a threat to us. They felt threatened by terror not by nukes.

We have to make sure people realize that both of these points are wrong!!!

Thanks for the advice.

8. You are right.
I keep forgetting that the written word does not reflect the tone of voice! My title sounds better when said with a little "matter of fact" applied:-)

Thanks for opinting this out.

6. POTATOE
Like Dan Quayle's misspelling of 'potato', the uranium issue is a stand-in for a bigger question.

If there were not a general suspicion that Dan Quayle is an idiot, no one would care if he could spell 'potato'. If the -other- assertions about WMDs had proved true, no one would care about the uranium.

The uranium claim has picked up momentum because itis very easy to state and understand and all the evidence is available. Sort of like misspelling 'potato' on TV.

7. Don't forget anything. It all adds up.
We have to chip away at the teflon before we can make anything stick.
