2. Is Charlie Rose just right wing these days?
Can't remember last time he had someone on who was not a Bush apologist.

3. Nah
I don't think he's right wing, he's just self-impressed.

A couple of weeks ago I caught the show when he had Calvin Trillian on for the entire hour. They spent the hour excoriating Bush. It was great.

10. Richard Holbrooke has been on a couple of times, once just last
week or so, correcting 'ol Charlie's "misstatements" of the facts about the prewar UN resolutions.
Holbrooke was working very hard throughout the interview to keep from telling Charlie what a jackass he though Bush was....as Charlie kept trying to gloss things over.

12. OK. But haven't more guests been right leaning?
And it seems a long time ago when people like David Salle(painter) were on with anything to say.
His culture guests are boring promos from Hollywood.

4. Thank you for the hot tip
I just checked and don't get it. Of course this is Midland Texas and if Laura Bush's mother isn't hogging the show the
republicans are. They are showing the "American Experience" the rise and fall of the World Trade Center. Is this worth
watching?

6. Am I The Only Person ...
... who saw Krugman for a whole hour on Tim Russert's show last night?

Maybe it was a repeat, but it was well worth watching.

I rarely watch Russert, but he seemed quite deferential to Krugman. He listened carefully to the answers; was not in any kind of attack mode and sort of nodded his head at lines like "the U.S. is turning into a Banana Republic economy".

Could be that Russert knows nothing about economics.

8. I saw it thanks to an alert
on this board - was it you?

It was great, and I was surprised at how Russert seemed to know that Krugman is right - he handled him with kid gloves. Will tape Rose, but I think Krugman deserves the whole hour like he got on Russert.

I found that one of the most interesting parts was how nasty the right has been to him, and his descriptions of how this administration differs from others he criticized in their take no prisoners attitude toward dissenters. Hope he goes into that some more tonite, but suspect he sill stick mainly to the economics of this disaster.

11. Uber whore Rose will find some way to trash Krugman
After all, Krugman is not one of the blessed Georgetown cocktail circut regulars, like Mrs & Mr. Sally Quinn.
