False Casualty Figures-In my opinion...
"the true US casualty figures of Iraq is around 6,000 servicemen killed and 48,000 wounded....in Viet Nam initially 6,000 KIA were reported later that rose to 58,000 and later a further were deemed missing in action."

The first casualty of war is always the truth.

1. Yes, very likely false.
I no longer believe anything MSM tells me anymore. A truly wise person would start getting their news from foreign sources or "conspiracy theory" internet sites.

2. No. The figures are correct.
I have been watching http://icasualties.org for the past year and a half and they have done an outstanding job of documenting the casualty and death figures from Iraq.

Yes, they use reports from the media and DoD to compile their information, but they always go back and cross-reference them with local newspaper articles.

If 4500 Americans were dead in Iraq and not listed on the DoD website, we would be hearing from their families. Promoting this idea that the figures are wildly disparate from what is being reported detracts from those who have suffered and makes those of us who oppose this war look like people uninterested in the truth.

4. Read the article posted and trusting anything from the DoD....
is like trusting a pathological liar. Even the McLaughlin political show discussed a casualty figure much higher at 27,000. How do you explain the 26,633 disability claims in April 2004 from VA. all the mercenaries from Uruguay, Uzbekistan etc. are also not in the calculations of the DoD. but they are not US so they don't factor into the DoD's equation. look at the ultimate figures from gulf war 1. a staggering total. your last point is specious, those who question the DoD and it's media parrots are the truth seekers. I guarantee you the total will be far more than what we are told.
