Disgusted by Dr. Sen. Frist on MTP,
I know MSM is crap, I still want to feel the Russert can ask some real questions but he just gave softball crap to Dr. Frist. I had hopes that Frist would step up and say that Iraq was a mistake and that no matter what he would work hard to get the troops what they need and to try to get them home soon. But nope, Dr. Frist has been bought and paid for by Bush and co. "Yes, cautiously optimistic about the future of Iraq." "...our troops will be there as long as it takes to get the job done to bring democracy." and then the report on how well those Iraq troops are doing".....124 thousand ummm 1/2 police 1/2 troops then we saw there special forces in a training exercise" and here I will paraphrase, basically that there not up to our standards but there coming along and remember there are about 124 thousand now...and then he mentioned, of course, that this administration is dedicated to this war on terror???

what a sell out, being a doctor myself you look at all the evidence and make informed decisions, assessments and plans for your patient, my fear is Frist is a doe eyed bush fan and can taste a future VP spot or something so he ignores the obvious.

1. Welcome to DU, Doctor!
I'm a different kind of doctor (Juris Doctor).

Dr. Frist is not one of you .... he is EVIL.

Yes, you were dreaming if you thought Russert would ask any Rethuglican tough questions ... but that is perfectly understandable. So sad, it is as if he has not seen those pictures of Iraqi children maimed and crying hysterically after one of our latest 'liberation' efforts (bombings).

I was talking to my hubby today, saying, "How am I supposed to feel right now, and how I am supposed to look my neighbors who voted for Bush in the I? I was a social worker for seven years, and my job was helping abused kids - and yet a little boy was raped in front of his father, an Iraqi general, so that the father would give information. So, am I to understand that TORTURE, and abuse of the worst kind, was done in this ex-CHILD-ABUSE-INVESTIGATOR's name? Great!" Sy Hersh, journalist for the New Yorker, saw the whole lot of pictures related to the Abu Graib scandal, and informed us about that incident. Just makes a professional want to go crazy and slap the neighbor silly.

5. Very true.... I sat in church today in CT and the Bishops of
ct drafted a letter to be read at mass. Though not unusual to get a letter from the Arch Bishop it was odd that it asked for us to sign a petition on the death penalty. You see CT will be executing its first inmate since 1960.

The political aspect of this is what bothers me. I sat there asking myself, why use the power of the pulpit now, why not prior to Nov. 2000 GW was responsible for over 131 inmates put to death with very little review, as we find out, since it was provided for him by Mr. Alberto Gonzales. or so they missed there chance then, how about the 1300+ brave soldiers and 100 thousand or more innocent Iraqis killed for what??
And I can tell you that in the pews it is likely that 55% or more of the Catholics felt that GW was a better moral choice for only 2 reasons and it is the 2 reasons that Rove and the MSM framed Gay marriage and abortion. Never mind poverty increasing or the greater number of poor children over the previous 4 years or the blood shed in Iraq...

it is sad how blind or disinterested the majority of the public is about public affairs.

question the answers!!

2. Are you a doctor in Tennessee?
Looks as though you are an eye doctor. If you're anywhere near me, my son and I will make sure you're our new eye doc.

:hi: and welcome to DU, regardless of your location.

Frist is a tool and I'm so glad he's not considering running for Senate in 2006. Now, we just have to stop him when he runs for president in 2008.

6. sorry in northern CT doctor of optometry and I get
the same question from my republican patients,

How, as a small business owner, can you be a Democrat? I tell them it is easy when the republicans run the board of finance and my property taxes have gone up more than 30% in the last five years..... Then I get on the board of finance and the republican. chair blames the state ( and Feds.) for not funding education fully, and you want good schools right!!

4. Welcome to DU, Doc
and don't forget that Frist has been out of practice for a very long time, preferring to make his money in the series of Frist family HMOs. It's not like your profession has been particularly tarnished. I'm just surprised he wasn't weeded out of medical school for his experimentation on pet cats.

7. Welcome, doctor.
On Frist:

He kind of reminds me of Bob Cratchet (sp?) in the Dickens story.

I'm getting nervous about his chances at winning the Republican nomination in four years.

10. Frist
Welcome, doctor. I'm also a doctor and agree that Frist should know better than to take the positions he takes.

Frist conveniently ignores the evidence that is contrary to RW ideology. There is no other way to explain his support of funding the abstinince-only-until-marriage programs which are ineffective and rely on inaccuracy and misleading information

As a physician, he should certainly know how to tell the difference between evidence and propaganda; consensus of credible medical groups and unsubstantiated (and usually already-been-proven-false) statements from politicians. It is clear by Frist's actions and positions that either he does not or he chooses not to.
