Sri Lankan' Embassy emailed me back (tsunami victims)
I wrote to all the embassies expressing my condolences.

I donated money but I wanted to add the "human touch" as well.

I encourage others to do the same. Because they just don't need our money, they need our hugs as well.

They addressed me as "Sir". Reminded me of the "King and I" :)

3. Sometimes you worry when you email that it's just a form letter kind of
deal..and people don't really read the message.

I'm heartened to know I had the chance to share a moment with them.

2. My creative writing professor was a Peace Corp. volunteer in Sri Lanka.

He wrote a book about his experiences there, which makes me feel closer to the people, even though I've never been there.
