How many Iraqi's did Saddam kill?
I was wondering how it compares with the number that Bush has killed.

1. Saddam killed more
But Bush has only had forces in the country for a little more than a year. Saddam ruled for years. I think Bush has killed more in a year then Saddam ever did though.

22. Saddam ruled for thirty years. Part of which he was our ally.
And all those bodies being discovered in Iraqi graves were not the result of deeds of Saddam. Iraq fought a war against Iran in which Iranians gassed and killed many Iraqis. Saddam also fought a Kurdish insurgency and many Iraqis were killed by the Kurds and buried in graves in northern Iraq which the US would like others to believe were killed by Saddam. No doubt Saddam killed many Iraqis but not on the level we are being led to believe. Nothing compares to the death and destruction wrought by the US and coalition forces over the past 15 years.

2. I read that someplace recently. He killed more, but we're killing...
...them off more rapidly. :( Maybe I heard it on Malloy. I can't remember. Does someone have actual figures?

7. I heard that W has killed 100,000 innocent Iraqis
Not military, but civilians. And 80% of those were women and children. I also heard that 50% of the Iraqi population was under the age of 15, so you have to figure that Bush has killed 50,000 children.

19. I heard 40,000+ were children.
The fact of the matter is they're fucking dead. The Iraqis will never forgive us and I don't blame them.

3. I don't know
the figures, but you have to figure the timeframe into the equation, too. Plus, besides the human toll, what kind of distruction to the country itself and the history that covers ancient times?

Saddam's reign was around 30 years. Little Georgie Porgy---less than two years.

4. I have heard numerous numbers....
But they have not yet found the mass graves to match their claims... That does not mean Saddam Hussein was a nice man.

8. We know he wasn't nice.
But how good is he beginning to look compared to George?

Torture? Check.

Murder? Check.

Illegal gassing? Check

But Saddam made sure the survivors had food, safe streets, electricity, and water.

So how are we doing in comparison again?

11. I agree while so graves have been uncovered there is no proof they
contain evidence of mass murder, but instead may be graves of soliders killed in wars. Having said that Saddam was a dictator and the last time I checked dictators kill desenters have purges and often commit mass murders. History reminds us of Germany and Russia just to name a few. I'm sure most americans know what dictators do to maintain their power. Saddam was in power for over 30 years and we did business with him knowing full well what the hell he was doing. Now we are offended?

that France, Germany, and Russia had with him. Nothing more, nothing less. They were the first things to go pffffft, when frat boy performed his illegal, immoral, unjust, uninstigated, steenking invasion.

For me...Saddam killed ...and Bush killed. Both needlessly and without cause.

20. Good point...why the pissing match over how many were killed?
We know that Bush's "reason" is pure shit, whichever reason that is this week. BTW, I have the reality bites fish on my car. :) Good concept, that. :)

18. Not too many while he was running for his life from palace to palace
Which was the case at the time when we invaded Iraq. Again, show me satellite photographs of thousands of Iraqis being marched to their death in late 2002 - early 2003 and I will change my stance to 100% support of the decission to invade Iraq.
