1. The best part is the smiling cable woman.......
It's not that far fetched, although I don't believe the oil fields will be nuked.....

4. former Atlanta resident (Morehouse College)
and believe me, this cartoon is closer to the truth than many Atlantans would comfortably admit...when the gas crunch comes, this Mecca of cheap development, unmitigated sprawl and soulless super-suburbs will implode, and it won't be pretty
see my extended rant here (and I was thinking of Atlanta when i wrote it)

5. You ain't just whistlin' Dixie
Not that anyone here would whistle that. The soccer moms and nascar dads simply refuse to believe that there's anything wrong with chopping down every tree in site for a new strip mall that's right next door to the old strip mall.

6. I spent the last three weeks traveling cities along the east coast
Baltimore, DC, NYC, and others. It was an extreme pleasure to shop at little markets with mom and pop fruit stands, small restaurants where the owner is seating you, and other signs of true community life. And I mean life. I have so come to detest the mega store in a mega mall at the mega exit of the mega highway. Sick of it. I look forward to moving back north.
