Watching Homecoming--Jimmy Carter Returns home to Plains, GA
it's a great show. Carter talking about his childhood and the fact that most of his playmates were black. School, work, church, etc.
One thing that comes across loud and clear: this was and still is a sick, fucking country! (Pardon my language but it captures the feeling). And no wonder Jimmy Carter was so despised by the RW and many southerners. At any rate, it's a good docu on Jimmy Carter and what makes him tick.

2. Are we still allowed to like Jimmy Carter?
What with him being from a "red state" and a Southerner and an evangelical and all that?

4. Quite a few people in both categories are Democrats.
But why let mere facts get in the way of easy judgments?

5. I still believe Carter was the best President we've had..
it was America's loss that he wasn't re-elected. And even as most in the south marches uniformly behind Bush's neoNazi columns, Carter remains opposed to the Iraqi War.
