when you listen to rightwingers

This"philosopher"Gramsci is whom they use as thier political guide.
Here is a progressive critique of some of his writings.

http://www.italnet.nd.edu/gramsci/igsn/articles/a09_5.shtml

Of the many meanings of democracy, the most realistic and concrete one in my view can be worked out in relation to the concept of 'hegemony'. In the hegemonic system, there exists democracy between the 'leading' group and the groups that are 'led', in so far as the development of the economy and thus the legislation which expresses such development favour the (molecular)passage from the 'led' groups to the 'leading' groups. In the Roman Empire there was an imperial territorial democracy in the concession of citizenship to the conquered peoples, etc. There could be no democracy under feudalism, because of the constitution of the closed groups estates, cor

porations, etc (56).

3. why care???

Okay, so they get off on Gramsci. Big deal- I mean, what's new about any of it?

Personally, I think the sophisticated Republicans work off Communist manuals that go further than Gramsci. Gramsci is only about making power grabs look 'respectable' by hiding them in institutional form and hiding propaganda as mainstream "news". Communist methods are about actively searching out opposition and attacking its psychological weaknesses.

Operatively, power equates to the question of whose opinion really matters. After that all these theoretical contortions are silly. Of course Republicans grasp at everything that gives them some structural advantage in the decision-making process about anything they care about. The difference is not what political theorist they follow, it's the degree of unity of purpose with which they act as a group, and their individual effectiveness at making their opinions be the ones that matter most.

I don't listen to RW to sympathize with these assholes, I listen to understand how they manipulate peopole to learn to UNDO it,permanently!
I mean this gramsci freak is thier political playbook! You got people on the dem side just coming to understand language and frameworks, this ass gramsci has been there done that.
If you look to where they get thier strategy from and this dude pretty much tells all and you can see where these thinktanks full of assholes get thier ideas you may be able to better COUNTER it if you know how freeps operate on other non freep people psychologically, philosopcially to do what they have done!
