Right-wing sexual jealousy
I think one of the biggest wedges between the right and the left is sexual gratification. Over here on the left, we understand the benefits of sexual activity--stress relief, cardio vascular, and just plain HAPPINESS.

These issues of marriage and abortion that the Freepers seem all wound up about have nothing to do with moral values, but are really just POLITICS OF ENVY.

They spend a lot of time trying to convince themselves that there is something noble about an underutilized penis (I'm speaking from a male perspective because I haven't had any frank discussions about sex with conservative women). This is an inadequate coping skill and a very poor substitute for an active sex life. The result is FRUSTRATION, and it's OBVIOUS.

Why else would they be jumping all over contraception? Why would they be against homosexuality? The only possible explanation is that they're not getting any and they want to punish those who are.

Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's genitals, Freeptards...we all know the score here. Banning gay marriage or reversing Roe v. Wade won't improve you sex lives. You can preach abstinence all you want, but don't get it confused with your lack of opportunity.

5. damn straight
plus, our hair moves when the wind blows. Some of those combovers, De Lay bowl cuts and aerodynamic Condoleeza do's could survive atmospheric re-entry.

2. The fundamentalist/conservative nightmare...
...is that someone, somewhere, is having a better time than they are.

3. its part of the fanatical christian mindset
that denying oneself pleasure is good. Enjoying oneself is bad... Denying oneself is good.

4. it is a bit about envy
I think that many conservatives have "bought into" that life can only be one way, and that is a life of sexual repression, guilt, shame, and then anger and hatred of people who don't conform.

Regarding morality though. Morality in its most pure form means causing no harm to yourself or others. How is it that two people who love each other are causing harm to themselves or others?

How is it NOT immoral that a few uptight people can work so hard to destroy the lives of people they have never met and never will meet?

How can those people claim that they have lives, but we have "lifestyles"? It's about envy, but it's about ignorance too.
