CNN: Laugh at Ohioans bitching about jobs
Edited on Sun Nov-21-04 11:38 PM by private_ryan
sorry but I'm really low on sympathy. My heart goes to the dems but face it: Ohio loves Bush and what the prosperity that he brought.
Let them eat and pay their rent with their f-ing christian values

28. If they really voted for Kerry
Then they've got plenty of time on their hands now to write and call their local government to complain about the stolen votes. Or at least mention this while you're whining to the CNN reporters.

Nah, I think these people are just your Wal-Mart Republicans, acting as if all welfare recipients are just lazy bums (hmm, never occurs to them that a lot of people end up there when the unemployment runs out). Well, now we can say THEY'RE just lazy bums.

Cry me a river, fucktards. Sleep well, fully assured that gays will never marry, and Iraqis are being liberated (of their lives, that is).

Myself included. I understand the irritation that people feel toward the red states. Hell, I feel it toward the blind morons that voted for * in Texas.

Ohio is a real exception when you take into account all the voting issues there. Texans don't have that excuse, the majority are just twits.

It seems Ohioans didn't get much of a chance to vote. Many were barred or turned away from the polls for one reason or another. Or if they did, their lucky if it got counted. Blackwell did them a favor and took care of that for them.

26. Unfortunately, the cultural blindness that a strong belief system
brings to many includes the forgetting of some basic human principles. One of those axioms most neglected appears to be, "One man's religion is another man's belly laugh." Sometimes the sheer idiocy of the human creature leads one to question the value of saving humanity.

and would have been blue if not for the voter suppression.

So let's make sure we aren't lumping them all together in some kind of generalized hatefest, okay? I'm not from Ohio, but I imagine these kinds of posts are pretty painful to read if you are a DUer who worked their ass off only to watch their savings slip away, and then worked their ass off for Kerry only to watch the election get stolen.

37. I know, I'm from a red state too
But my point was (and I can't speak for the other folks here) is that, if you DID support Kerry, you should be speaking out about the theft of the votes which is causing the economic situation being reported on CNN. I mean, if you've got time to talk to CNN reporters, you've got time to get on the phone and bitch at Katherine Blackwell, et al. On the CNN report, I saw *one* guy with an anti-Bush protest sign. Not exactly the kind of groundswell that's going to make the Ohio SoS sit up and take notice, you know??

So my statement still stands--I fully realize that the Ohio Dems busted their butts, and I salute them all. But this CNN program just reeks of typical Repuke behavior...small-town America having nothing but contempt for "dem evil libruls", but they're the first to whine to the "librul" media when they have problems.

Tell it to Fox News, people...your neighbors TOLD you why you should vote for Kerry, but would you listen? No-o-o-o-o-o......

We know who they are and we will cry no rivers for the collective idiots. I am in a red state and I still feel this way. Yes, it is unfortunate that many dems live with these cave people, but the cave people need to suffer the results of their stupid uninformed voting. Once they hit rock bottom, no job, no food, no shelter, military draft of their kids... maybe they will get a clue what Bush fascism that they voted for is all about.

http://www.princeton.edu/~rvdb/JAVA/election2004/

It's not the fault of a person that they live on this side of an arbitrary state border, or another side. Obama was right, we shouldn't be thinking in terms of red states and blue states.

Nor do I think it is solely the responsibility of the red staters to get off their collective butts and yell about election fraud. For all we know, vote hacking could have been done from Hawaii. Really, what the hell was Cheney doing out there? Election fraud is a national issue, not a red state issue.

Hmmm. Yeah, what the hell WAS Cheney doing out there?

And many of us do wish it on Bush voters. They are voting for the worst jobs President since Hoover over gay marriage, and other BS moronic issues. Did they have sympathy for me being out of work? Hell no. They voted to continue outsourcing my job. Screw them! They voted for a known liar. Screw them! I hope they get outsourced or downsized just like me. If they are war mongers I hope the draft affects them personally. Screw them! That's what they voted for, that's what they should get. I only wish them what they want. If that is cruel so be it. I worked as hard as anyone for Kerry. And my family and I will suffer the fallout of another four years probably harder than most Bush families, because we are still dealing with the effects of a layoff from 1993.

So this line of bullshit of "They voted for Bush, screw 'em" is nothing more than a scorched-earth policy that burns everybody in its path. It's also, IMHO, the Internet equivalent of a 3-year-old's temper tantrum.

"Ohio loves Bush" just like the rest of the United States loves Bush... even the Blue states. After all, they were part of the entire country and the popular vote in the country as a whole went for Bush.

Unless you're willing to join us and "eat and pay their rent with your f-ing christian values" because you happen to live in a red country it would be helpful to stop making hurtful comments addressed to those of us who live in the smaller geographical red areas that make up the red country.

That's the info I keep getting everytime I google it. That no republican has ever won the presidency without winning Ohio , either. The only reason Dems thought they had a chance there, is because so many jobs were lost this time around.

Hate to see anyone unemployed, but if they voted for bush, hard to sympathize with them. For those who didn't I agree with the rest of the posters that say they should be making a big stink about voter irregularities there.

52. I think you missed my point
If you accept the proposition that the geographical areas that voted for Bush are to be left to "eat and pay their rent with their f-ing christian values," then you have to accept it for the country as a whole - which is nothing more than a bigger geographical area that voted for Bush. That includes all of us - including the presumably blue state poster.

Or, if you want to look at it a different way - I live in a blue county, so I have just as much right to blame the neighboring red counties for how the Ohio as a whole voted as you blue staters have to blame the red states for how the country voted as a whole.

I know not all blue staters are looking down their noses at those of use who live in red states - but the blanket condescension directed at red state residents around here is getting to a bit much to take.

Individuals voted for Bush - not counties, states, or the country.

53. Ms. Toad Unfortunately there is a problem
for a state to be declared a "Red State" that means the Majority had to vote for bush. They gave their electoral votes to him, and thats really what you need to get elected. And there's just no getting away from that.

Cant blame the minority who didn't vote for bush, but you certainly can blame the majority who did. As for the popular vote, the majority of that didn't come from the Blue States either.

It's ironic when you think about it. Blue States most effected by 9/11 & therefore the ones that should be most worried about "security", bush neither won their popular or electoral votes.

So are people a bit confused and frustrated? You bet! I don't think anyone is looking down their noses at anyone. Just trying to understand & see what we can do next. I'm sure you tried your best to convince people not to vote for bush in your state, but some how "talk" just isn't working. Maybe economic parity is the only thing that will get through to these people. Blue states are not only stuck with this jerk, but the tax burden too, and it's not fair.

No one wants to see anyone lose jobs, but if these same people voted for bush, they have to take responsibilty for their choices, just like we all have to in real life.

I think we have to look at the problems we are facing, be honest about it and try to solve it together. I meant no insult when I said Ohio is traditionally a republican state, and maybe we were wrong to expect a change this year, I don't know. In my heart I still feel Kerry won there. But what I feel and what is, are two different things. Who knows? Maybe this week will bring us better news. If not, we have to look at alternative solutions.

54. I'll always have sympathy for the Democrats of Ohio.
The union voters in Ohio who went for Bush are another matter. Hopefully they will be smart enough to keep any future whining about jobs, poverty and healthcare to themselves from now on.

55. Let's give Ohio a break...
Many Ohioans tried to do the right thing in the face of great adversity. How many of you had to wait in a line for 8 hours to vote?

And with the strong possibility of electoral fraud... Ohio shouldn't be counted out. Let's support them in their time of need.

57. the sorry truth is that niether party has done a damn thing to stem the
flow of good jobs from this country for the last 30 years.

it's no mystery to me that many ohioans may have voted 'values'. they knew no economic help was coming from the dem or repooks.

59. In Ohio, it does no good
to write letters to congressmen or the press. They're not listening anymore. Best advice I can give to fellow ohioans, get any job that offers benefits and pays somewhat decent salary. Live cheaply, take care of the basic needs (roof over head, food, transportation)
The only way to open eyes now is to show people how bad it will get under the * administration.
And in Ohio, its going to get bad.
I just graduated with an MCSA. My job?-dispatcher, making a fraction of what I should be
My brother graduates in 3 weeks-He gave up looking for a Web design job after 2 years and is now a telemarketer.
People may not have the job they are suited for or were trained for,
but at this point, if one has enough to live on, and stay healthy, you are considered lucky.

76. I'm still not fully convinced that Ohio isn't blue.
Let's give the people of Ohio, especially those in blue counties & blue towns, until the December 13th electoral college meeting to straighten this out.

For now, I'm saving my venom for people in the really, really bright red parts of our nation.
