The Crime of George the Third:
The key claim of the Declaration of Independence that the colonists said justified a revolution was this: That George III had a history of repeated injuries and usurpations, all having in direct object the establishment of an absolute Tyranny over these States."

Basically, if this claim were to be proven true then revolution becomes morally justifiable:

"When a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security."

"evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism"

Sounds like the Bush Administration to me... Of course, these days "evincing a design" is derided as a "conspiracy theory".

1. Which is why
the government now wants mandatory 'mental health' screening for all citizens. Evince any doubt or dissatisfaction with the regime and you automatically become mentally ill and either locked up or drugged.
