2. That is a very
touching picture. Ahhh, so sweet. I hope they both had a wonderful day in spite of the rain and the presence of the Quaker Oats Man and her evil spawn.

5. She held her parents together
figuratively and literally, at a time when they nearly came apart.

An outstanding young woman, and a fine example of the family values we should all be proud of.

And I mean ALL of us, Rush Limbaugh.

11. That's a horrid thing to say.
That's a photo, a captured moment, not a story. And it shows trust and affection between father and daughter. If child abuse was involved then there would be no trust and no affection.

9. I miss Clinton.
I really, really do. And I'm not even American. But I remember when he came to the UK to speak to the Rhodes Institute, and I waited for hours to see him just sweep past in his car, and eventually he did, just metres away, waving through the window ...

I have never been so moved by a politician.

Damn your constitutional two-term amendment. He'd still be president now if it wasn't for that.

But Britain and Europe don't have "you have to be born here" restrictions on high office. He could be prime minister. Or European president. One can dream ...

12. The 22nd (two-term) amendment was another gift from the GOP.
Edited on Thu Nov-18-04 06:38 PM by NightTrain
When FDR died, the Republican-controlled congress wanted to make damned good and sure that no other popular Democrat could be president for as long as Roosevelt was. So, they amended the Constitution to limit the presidency to two terms. With Democrat Harry Truman's consent, of course....

19. What an awsome idea
Start a movement!!!

Tony Blair is OUT, and I'll bet Clinton wouldn't dream of coming over and being the Divider's poodle.

25. This is a BRILLIANT idea
but needs a bit of finessing. For a start Clinton would ahve to move to the UK and become a member of the Labour party. Then we could get rid of Blair. Then Clintion would have to win a by-election in a safe seat (plenty of opportunities coming up!). Then Clinton could be elected leader of the Labour party and become Prime Minister. It could be sorted out within six months (in my dreams).

My heavens. Our foreign policy would be transformed overnight and we'd have the return of cabinet government. And we'd have Clinton in charge! As far as the British people are concerned, he can screw all the interns he wants, he still gets 80% approval ratings.

Edited on Thu Nov-18-04 08:17 PM by Cat Atomic
Clinton achieved "a few great things", like NAFTA and Welfare Reform.

Ugh. Is there any wonder why Dems are losing?

Anyway, pardon me- I don't mean to step on any Clinton fans' toes.
