About the Troops, Blue VS Red
Does anyone here know what the ratio is of the Troops in Iraq?

Percentage-wise, how many are from the blue states?

How many are from the red states?

Does this matter to us or anyone?

2. I'll bet it's pretty evenly divided.
Red states give up their poor rural children to the war machine, blue states give up their poor urban children to the war machine.

5. You have that right
It is always the children of the less fortunate that sacrifices their lives for the country, doesn't matter if the war is right or wrong.

7. war.

I think a draft would be good. We need to get the burden of war off the backs of our poor and integrate the armed forces with people from all walks of life. I know that if I was drafted, seeing I am still of age, I would go. I would have several internal conflicts about war itself and if I believed in the cause. I would be very upset if I was drafted under the Bush administration.

the wealthy and the well-connected would always get a free pass if they wanted. And they always seem to want one. See the bios of Bush and Cheney to start.

Edited to welcome you to DU.

3. Don't know for sure,
but I read in the Dem-Gazette, I believe, that AR has supplied a disproportionate number of Guardsmen/Reservists in relation to the population of the state.

9. I know that a lot
of the Vermont National Guard have been shipped over there and more are slated to go soon...

Quite a few of them have been killed too.
