What happened to restrictions on 527s, like no ads for 60 days before

What happened to restrictions on 527s, like no ads for 60 days before
a federal election?

I was expecting the 527 ads to stop as 60-days-from-the-election approached, but they kept going to the end.

1. This is an excellent question
I have wondered this myself, but finally decided I must have been mistaken about what the law actually said. I am very interested in hearing the answer myself if anyone knows.

4. As I recall, Eric, the 527s were not allowed to mention any...
candidate's name in the ads who was running for office 60 days before the election, but could still run the ads given that caveat.
