NAH! Everything's hunky-dory, just ask our pResident.
If it IS polarized it is directly the fault of the Bush Administration and their Fundie whacko friends.

Do you think that the Russians would let us borrow one of their Kilo Class Subs? I know it would mean sending the Queen Mary II to Davy Jones's Locker, but sometimes sacrifices must be made.

30. Just an "old-time country preacher"
ministering to his flock of short-sighted, judgmental, clueless accomplices. And in doing so, providing the necessary electoral margin for the neo-cons to carry on their relentless campaign to consolidate the majority of America's wealth within a fraction of a percent. Maybe a "modern-day corporate shill" would be more appropriate title for holy boy Jerry. We're talking "values" here!

They were not present so how could they be the "reigning national champions?"

on edit: what he was looking at was "Sweepstakes" results, where the school gets sweepstakes credit for entering contenestents in speaking events including debate.

35. Whoa! Did I just hear him say "Blow Away" the terrorist?
Edited on Sun Nov-14-04 07:18 AM by ElectroPrincess
Those of you over 40 y.o. recognize this language? Just like the religious nut cases and authoritarian leaders kept saying that "the enemy" is less than human?

This term "terrorist" is the new "North Vietnamese" NOTHING different ... but to be implied as people who are less than human. Therefore it's A OK to BLOW THEM AWAY?!?

Falwell is an embarrassment to humble and TRUE pro-life (in all it's intended meanings) Christians everywhere.

He's INSANE and DANGEROUS but he is NOT Christian.

On edit: grammar correction Here-Hear! <g>

37. Oh yes GingerSnaps, that is burned into my memory along
with many others. Remember THE MAJORITY of the US American public promised themselves to "never again" let the politicians get us into an illegal and immoral war. Damn! The right wing nut cases are, at times, now holding the reigns. I am, for the first time, afraid. Not in an immediate sense but a feeling of doom. I'm so embarrassed of Rumsfeld especially ... he does not represent what I value in a DOD Secretary. Rumsfeld's almost IMHO evil incarnate.

The girl in the picture.. her story
http://www.digitaljournalist.org/issue0008/main_frame_s...

Kim Phuc as a Goodwill Ambassador of the United
Nations and the Publication of the Story of her Life.

Kim Phuc has become an anti-war symbol in the West. Vietnam had used her as an anti-American symbol before her defection in 1992. She has no regrets. Kim Phuc (her name means "Golden Happiness" ) had spent 14 months recovering from her wounds and underwent 17 transplants and other operations. In November 1997 Kim Phuc was named by Director General Frederico Mayor a Goodwill Ambassador of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) "for a culture of peace". The event took place during a plenary session of the UNESCO General Conference.

She also established the Kim Foundation (healing children of war) with offices in Ajax, Ontario, Canada and Chicago IL, financed by voluntary donations. "I want to give back in the same way that so many gave to my healing", she said at the UNESCO ceremony in Paris. "Yes, I forgive, but I don't forget in order to prevent the same thing from happening again." Kim Phuc now aspires to learn French and has signed up for language courses in Montreal.

Her husband Bui Huy Toan occupies himself with helping people in Canada who have difficulties to communicate. The visit to London was his first to Europe since his marriage to Kim Phuc. When both are traveling Kim's parents take care of their two sons. They joined them in Canada in 1998. In 1999 the book of Kim Phuc's life, "The Girl in the Picture: The Story of Kim Phuc, the Photographer and the Vietnam War" by Denise Chong was published by Viking, in the Penguin Publishing Group, Canada. Editions in the U.S.A. and Britain will follow in mid-2000. It is the story of the "napalm girl" as she struggles to reclaim her life.

40. Fatass Falwell needs to re-read his Bible. Jesus never said anything
about homosexuality. I'd think if it were something that kept people from getting to heaven he might have mentioned it at least once.
