Riverbend is unusually prolific this week and heartbreaking.

1. I follow Riverbend blog, been preoccupied this past week
so appreciate the redirect. Yes, the entry is a heartbreaker.

Silence implies consent.

What a transformation over the last few years with Riverbend eh? So telling of the feelings there.

Had acquaintance who was ecstatic re Iraq invasion.. (he was hoping for cell phone contract..think he was hooked up with Chalabi) Now I don't hear from him since nephew was killed for being pro US....and he's canceled three trips to Iraq for safety reasons.

8. Sorry ...
... I suppose I'm in the minority on this issue, but I believe we should stay the course in Fallujah and rid the city of the lawless vermin insurgents that choose to kill innocent indigent citizens in an effort to ward off the evil Democracy.

... I say fuck them. Give up to the Marines and live or fight them and die.

9. Forcing democracy on people doesn't work.

We are wasting time, money, and, worst of all, lives over there.

10. exmilitary I presume?
just guessing. If you've followed Riverbend you would have a completely different opinion.

Was fortunate to see Wesley Clark just before election.. he reiterated Riverbend's feelings. "How will they even be able to tolerate us when we're killing their parents, sons, uncles, and cousins"

Fallujeh is a city of 250,000... have you seen the decimation there? Where are those people going to live when we don't even have power returned to Baghdad?

11. Your post is disgusting
"vermin" is an interesting choice of words. I know Michael Savage uses it often. Riverbend is describing innocent civilians being killed. Parents are afraid to leave their homes and they're burying their children and other relatives in their fucking garden! You haven't a clue what we've done. (click)

12. Who is killing? Who is lawless?
To read riverbend, what sane person could wish things to continue, or justify what has been done already...
