RedMorals Watchblog-the REAL morals of the "moral majority" is now up
Thanx to some terrific links provided by DUers last night, RedMorals is now populated with more than 50 examples of the REAL morals of this so-called RED "moral majority."

Incidents categorized by:
  • WHO (politician, preacher, media, fundraiser, etc.)
  • WHAT (sex crimes, drug crimes, money crimes, adultery, etc.)
  • WHERE (by state), and
  • WHEN (year).

Obviously, there are many many more than 50 examples -- most of the current ones are based on news stories just in the past 6 months -- but this is a start.

    Enjoy!
    ~Tes

(and, of course, all leads re: more entries very very welcome)

    3. does it get any more repugnant than this?
Republican Baptist minister Bill Randall, who had been aggressively touted by the Republican party as a Florida candidate for the US House of Representatives, first blamed his teenage son, then acknowledged that he fathered an illegitimate child in the 1980s

    5. yeah
... i was pretty grossed out reading thru everything ... it's AWEFUL period . End . Of . Story . It just seems MORE awful when someone who purports to be moral/religious does it.

In any event - this just scratches the surface, but should provide a good base -- want to get at least 1 political and 1 religoius example for each state.

    all in time ...

    20. More dirt ...
    Check out http://liberalslikechrist.org/GOPcorruption/

This site's FULL of examples, such as:

Bob Barr (R-Georgia): the principal sponsor of the1996 Defense of Marriage Act, has been married three (or is it now four) times. And at a party in1992, Barr actually licked whipped cream off the breasts of two women. Now that's family values.

Randi Rhodes (AAR) has several times mentioned Barr's multiple marriages and that he forced one of his wives to have an abortion (apparently, this came out during a nasty divorce). Check with Randi to get details/source for abortion story.

Also, dont forget George Bush Sr's l..o..n..g extramarital affair with his secretary, all throughout his presidency. Ah, poor Barbara.
    link: http://www.newsmax.com/archives/articles/2001/2/12/55616.shtml

And Ahnold's 7 yr extramarital affair with Gigi Goyonne, that started when Gigi was just 16 y.o. and Ahnold, 27.
    http://www.nationalenquirer.com/stories/feature.cfm?instanceid=11259

And, later, another long term Ahnold extramarital affair with flight attendant, Tammy Baker Tousignant. Her out-of-wedlock son is said to bear a remarkable resemblance to Ahnold and sources close to Tammy have confirmed Ahnold's paternity.
    http://www.libertythink.com/arnolddailymail.txt

And, lastly, there are those awfully persistent rumors about starving-young-bodybuilder Ahnold's "special" relationships with wealthy London gay playboy, John Dixey, and the notoriously gay Spanish millionaire, Paco Arce:

Bodybuilder Rick Wayne met Arce in Geneva and recalls: 'He pulled out a stack of pictures of Arnold taken at his house in a certain way, pictures of him in his underwear.' A second source confirms that Arce showed him the same pictures, then told him he had paid Schwarzenegger $1,000 to spend the weekend at his house in Spain and pose for them. (see preceding link)

    23. these are great ---
and I want to add them -- but I have to find two mainstream media sources for each story before I'll post it. (Even tho' I sometimes only post one source, I have found (at least) 2 articles on each story.)

There are several great lists of "sins" out there already, which include the above allegations/facts - the problem is that they aren't sourced. And -- as Keith Olbermann said -- the only way such lists (and other stuff on blogs) will become credible is if we start sourcing EVERYTHING. So, unless I can personally verify the story, have required that each entry be supported by 2 source articles.

So -- I'll start looking for sources and add when I can find them.

    THANX again for the tips.

    10. On the Saturday of the Memorial Day weekend in 1983, Bob drove me to the clinic to have an abortion. He watched our boys at home while the procedure was done. He then came to the clinic to to get me. He paid for the procedure.

Love your site - didn't see this one, new this week.

Former REPUBLICAN Georgia School Superintendent, indicted Wednesday on federal charges of stealing more than $500,000 in taxpayer money and spending $9,500 of it on personal cosmetic surgery for a face lift.

18 count indictment alleges a scheme to steal federal education funds and secretly funnel about half the money for Shrenko's failed 2002 campaign for Georgia governor. Charges include conspiracy, wire fraud and theft of public funds; convictions on the most serious counts could carry up to 30 year sentence.

    25. The hypocricy of the self appointed gaurdians of American morals
    I am not suprised.

Let Rush have 3 divorces and an oxy-contin problem, or Bill Bennett have a gambling problem. They are human. OH...no they do not get off that easy. I only let people who admit that they are fallable human beings get off so easily. If you want to trumpet the chimera of the moral decay of America, be expected to get conked on the head with said trumpet when you contribute to it. Remember all you red moralists: when you point your bony self righteous finger at someone, there are three bony self righteous fingers pointing back at you.

    28. Town's Voters Support Bush And Legal Hookers

FALLON, Nev. -- Voters in Churchill County, Nev., support President George W. Bush -- and legal hookers.

A ballot measure to ban legal prostitution in the rural Republican county lost by a 2-1 margin in last Tuesday's election.

George Flint, executive director of the Nevada Brothel Association, can't believe it. He said the overwhelming vote in favor of prostitution blows his mind.

He's not the only one who is stunned. Opponents of brothels said they were shocked, too. Officials said the defeat of the anti-brothel measure could lead to the eventual reopening of two "houses" in the area.

... am doing my best ... at work, have secretary to "accomodate" my spelling dyslexia -- but -- obviously can't have her help here.

I DO run spell-check, but it doesn't work on headings -- but I have seen and corrected as many as I can find. (And i'm in the process of RE-running on each entry per your message here.)

Just proves that "moronacy" is, like "morality" an equal-opportunity kinda thing.

If people see something glaring, I'd GREATLY appreciate a PM and will correct it post haste (or is it poste haste?)

    43. Don't overlook Santorum's 'home' used to garner school $ for his kids
Several DU links on this good tidbit:

Rick Santorum (Mr. Family Values) is billing a Pittsburgh school district for his 6 kids to use its Internet-based school. A school board member is questioning this charge, since the Santorums live in VA in a $757,000 house most of the time. The house they pay taxes on in PA is a frame, two-bedroom house valued at $106,000. How much time do you think the family of 8 spends in THAT house?

School board member Erin Vecchio, who is chair of the Democratic party in Penn Hills and lives near a two-bedroom house owned by the Santorums, said, "I live right down the street from the man. He's never there. ... He doesn't live here."
