On a day when more reservists have died since we invaded Iraq the
media's top news story is whether to air Private Ryan on Veteran's Day. :wtf: Welcome to Bizarro World.

3. I am no longer surprised by what mainstream media does.
They have been a complete and consistent disappointment. They have failed during these critical times. Not including those journalists in the field who bravely risk their lives, those in the big fancy buildings have seats which are too cushy, suits which are too expensive, faces and hair that are too made up. They live such comfortable lives that I wonder if they can even empathize with the suffering multitude of soldiers and citizens in Iraq.

5. Could you explain ....
the part about "more reservists have died" ..... I've had on the news, and while I know they often do not report things, I'm curious what this is based upon? Thanks.

7. That's interesting ...
I looked on LBN and didn't see anything. I think that we are being fed lies about what is occuring in Falujah, and that the level of violence around the rest of the country is not being reported. It would be nice to get some accurate numbers ... although the numbers alone do not tell the whole story, the public needs to know that this administration is leading more and more soldiers to their death with no end in sight.

8. Definitely. Reservists shouldn't be dying overseas. Furthermore, the
number of wounded is really high, and as we know, aren't being included in the fatality counts either.

9. I have heard from a couple
sources that the soldiers who are supposed to be leaving Iraq are being screened, and that those with the symptoms of PTSD are actually being forced to stay in country. This is obscene. The public is not even dimly aware of the depth of stupidity of the civilian/military "leaders" who are in charge of this growing horror.

Even a person with limited military insight can see that we are accomplishing nothing of value in Fallujah. The "enemy" has no plan to engage in major conflict, and is not leaving large numbers of weapons/people in one place for an extended time.

I never cared for Bush 1. But he was so much smarter than this son of his that it is stunning that he is not able to influence him on military matters. I feel so bad for the victims of his policy, and their families in the USA.

10. Heard on the Majority Report last week they are also forcing them to
take both Anthrax and malaria vaccines. Both are causing severe health problems and the malaria vaccine, I believe, is causing mental problems--severe nightmares and delusions. Jeannine pointed out that they are giving malaria vaccines to soldiers in a country that is pure desert--no chance of mosquito borne illnesses at all. Now why would they give them a delusion enhancing drug? Think they'll make better killers?

11. Common sense tells us not to
take medicines we do not need. I'm just shocked at the stupidity involved in this. I think that the majority of Americans realize the war is not going well, and probably close to half have realized we never should have gone to begin with. But I guess what far too few realize is that we are still involved in a conflict in Afghanistan, and it is not a situation likely to improve in the next 24 months.

Years ago, according to recently retired CIA analyst Michael Scheuer, (author of "Imperial Hubris" and "Through Our Enemies' Eyes") our enemies in the Middle East studied our culture very closely. They concluded that some of the tactics from Vietnam would prove effective. The primary difference was that in Vietnam, the public opinion could be swayed by the media; today, because the media has become a tool of the government, any opposition would need to attack the US economy in order to shift public support away from supporting the war efforts.

This administration hasn't the brains to see this, or the ability to change directions. It's a shame that the public can't comprehend what is happening. Very sad to think, on Veteran's Day, that the country will not stand up for the military.
