Looks like so far, not just today.

I didn't call it a "Flash" MSNBC did.

1. Just now? You mean 18 so far or 18 just now?
It's just horrible.

11. As opposed to "breaking news"
And they clearly said that the pentagon had released the numbers of Americans killed thus far.

There are plenty of DUers with family or friends in Iraq. It's simply not a good idea to put something that implies that 18 more kids were killed. We need to be an accurate source of information.

9. Military is trying to surpress the count
They said 600 insergants dead, up from 71 yesterday. You know what that means, most of them are probally women and children like the first Fallujah attack. Military just lumps them all into the insergant count.

13. The military admits it is not reporting everything now. That number is low
http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2003/02/24/iraq/main541815.shtml

"At least 13 U.S. soldiers and Marines have been killed so far in the Fallujah operation, according to military reports pieced together since Monday. The military has been slow in releasing official, comprehensive reports, citing security.

Military officials cautioned that the figure of 600 insurgents killed in Fallujah was only a rough estimate. Some 1,200 to 3,000 fighters were believed holed up in the city before the offensive. Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Gen. Richard Myers said Thursday that "hundreds and hundreds of insurgents" have been killed and captured"

If they say 18 it's 36, at least, and probably higher.
