Bush is visiting a Operating Engineers' union-run job training center in the small town of Richfield. He is expected to promise working Americans that improving the economy and creating new jobs are among his top priorities.

You know the funny thing about all this is that Bush and the Repugs are out to get this particular union. The neo-cons hate the Davis-Bacon Act and the Operating Engineers membership is involved primarily in highway construction which falls under the Davis-Bacon Act. You just have to wonder what is really going on here.

2. A friend's father was a member of the Operating Engineers in Chicago.

He came to dislike the local and pretty much disassociate himself from it because of their support of repuke causes. Sadly, he is no longer alive so it is impossible for me to get his perspective on this latest turn of events.
