Uber Redneck Zell Miller defends ass-backwardness by criticizing Mo Dowd
Edited on Wed Nov-10-04 12:30 PM by jefferson_dem
November 10, 2004 -- SEN. Zell Miller (D- Ga.) laced into New York Times columnist Maureen Dowd yesterday on the "Imus in the Morning" radio show, saying, "The more Maureen Loud gets on 'Meet the Press' and writes those col umns, the redder these states get. I mean, they don't want some high brow hussy from New York City explaining to them that they're id iots and telling them that they're stupid." Miller also suggested "that red-headed woman at the New York Times" should not mock anyone's religion: "You can see horns just sprouting up through that Technicolor hair." Dowd responds: "I'm not a highbrow hussy from New York. I'm a highbrow hussy from Washington. Senator, pistols or swords?"

8. He's done with politics, thank God. Now he can go back home
to cavort with his fellow racist scum in Young Harris, GA. No need for him to veil his tendencies now. Now...he's back where he started -

Running for Congress in 1964, Miller dismissed the Civil Rights Act as neither "constitutionally acceptable or fundamentally proper as an approach to the solution of racial problems in America." Even back then, he denounced the Democratic presidential nominee, declaring that Lyndon Johnson "is a Southerner who sold his birthright for a mess of dark pottage." From 1968-71, Miller served as executive secretary to Gov. Lester Maddox, who remained an unrepentant segregationist until the day he died.

5. American Coastopia
In a telephone interview, Mr. O'Donnell said the red states
that went to Mr. Bush "collect more from the federal
government than they send in. New York and
California, Connecticut -- the states that are blue are all
the states that are paying for the bulk of everything
this government does, from ... Social Security to everything
else, and the people in those states don't like what
this government is doing."

All those Federal taxes you love to hate? It all comes from us
and goes to you, so shut up and enjoy your fucking
Tennessee Valley Authority electricity and your fancy
highways that we paid for. And the next time Florida gets hit by
a hurricane you can come crying to us if you want to, but
you're the ones who built on a fucking swamp. "Let the
Spanish keep it, it’s a shithole," we said, but you had to
have your fucking orange
juice.

Funny as hell. RMAO, and I'm a Southerner.

7. Dowd is a Media Ho
Nobody spread the lies about Gore like she did, from her perch at the NYT.

Kinda fun to watch the GOP hate rays aimed at her now. I'll bet she is wishing she had contributed more to a culture of honesty in journalism, instead of smear.

Oh well.

14. It's a media whore
Or a presstitute. A "journalist" who is willing to compromise what little integrity they have in order to tow the party line and continue to go to fancy cocktail parties with politicians.

Someone who knows which side their bread is buttered on.

Nearly our entire press corpse.

9. this is a skit
Dowd and Miller and Tweety all probably have the same agent, who stages these feuds to promote all three of them.

12. Zell Miller
has gone off the deep end. I remember listening to him on Sean Hannity one day and thinking, "hey this guy is kind of intelligent" but after watching him rant at the RNC I realized what a complete douchebag he really is.

17. Zell went off the deep end when Roy Barnes appointed him
From what I can tell (I've only been in GA for three years) Zell had evolved from being Lester Maddox's buttboy to a fairly progressive, decent governor of GA. When a Republican senate seat was vacated, then-gov. Roy Barnes appointed Zell (who'd "retired" from politics) to fill the seat.

It was controversial at the time--conservatives hooted and hollared. Of course, Zell turned out to have no interest whatsoever in getting to know any of the Democrats in DC.

I still want someone to ask that creep why it was that he felt he had to back Bush's re-election when there were still 9 people vying for the Democratic presidential nomination. Zell pisses and moans incessantly that Democrats haven't supported the War on Terra, and that we aren't willing to use force when needed, but he also elected to pass on endoring Senator Joseph Lieberman, a Democrat surely as hawkish as Zell.

Why couldn't Zell back Joe? Someone needs to call him on that. I suspect it's a mixture of Zell's anti-Semitism and a loathing of Northeasterners.
