Dr. Fate is a Wellstone/Dean Democrat- no more DNC Kool-aid for me
Lets face it- I'm a Wellstone Democrat, and I've been drinking that sweet, sweet DNC Kool-aid.

I hope the DNC knows that Dr Fate aint drinking no more Kool-aid. I wish I had done more to support Dean- I never put him down, but I failed to support him.

Find a "Swing voter" who is willing to put in up to 40 hours a week for you-since that seems to be all you care about.

I thought Kerry was a good guy- but from now on, I'm only doing work for "tell it like it is" Democrats.

Hey DNC- call me back when you are willing to do the right thing- show Donna Brazille & McCullife the door and bring in Dean. If not, I'll gladly do work for Dean's DFA. Good luck with those moderates & swing voters- I hope they work as hard for you as I did.

If you cant "tell it like it is" then dont come-a-knockin...and forget the Kool-aid- cuz Dr. Fate is only drinking truth juice from here on out.

3. I love Edwards, Kerry & both Clintons...
Dont get me wrong-I'm a hard-core, active DEM.

All I'm saying is that I think the strategy is all wrong- I will only work for "Tell it like it is" Democrats. The DNC thinks that turns off the swing-voters but I think they would RESPECT it. Wellstone is a great example.

Edwards is fantastic and he campaigned his heart out- but I wont support him or Kerry again if they cant "tell it like it is." This is the most lying, corrupt, dishonest, immoral admin ever- and I think they failed to make that case.

Doc

21. I agree completely
But, and I'm not trying to make excuses for either Kerry or Edwards here, it seems to me that whenever they did try to call out the immoral nature of this administration (Edwards frequently talked about Halliburton and Enron, for example, in his stump speeches both before and after being selected as VP) the press slamed them or their message fell on the deaf ears of the sheeple.
People, it seems, did not care about their message. We Democrats heard it loud and clear, but preaching to the choir is sadly not going to win many elections.

22. It's silly- but all they had to do was use the word "liar" over &over...
Edited on Wed Nov-10-04 01:52 AM by Dr Fate
...or "Enron/Haliburton crooks." Somthing that would stick- like "flip flopper." BACK IT UP with examples. Tell it like it is, in other words.

THEN the media would have discussed it- b/c it would have "fooled" the Republicans into being "outraged" by the comments-and the media always discusses whatever the Republicans discuss. If Dr Fate can figure this out, why couldnt Kerry?

Swing voters would have appreciated the "matter of factness" of the comments.

Thats what I mean by "telling it like it is"- it aint rocket-science. It's quite simple: When Bush lies, you call him a liar, then you point out examples, and demand that he explain himself.

The Republicans always use very unambiguous, matter of fact language to great effect.

I'm only going to support "tell it like it is" Democrats-not just b/c it's the right thing to do, but b/c it's actually good strategy.

Doc

4. I like Dean & Clinton- thats fine. I'll volunteer for the DFA.

Good luck to the DNC, if they choose that path. I hope they find lots of swing-voters & moderates who like to put in long hours.

If I cant help "Tell it like it IS" Democrats through the DNC, I'll go elsewhere.

12. That's what THEY would want you to believe. I just don't subscribe to
the party-divided / conniving Bill and Hillary template. They may not be "best buds" but they are united in purpose.

17. Oh, i agree Doc. I would totally object to a lurch to the mushy middle.
Centrism is definitely NOT the way to go in principle and also considering the sheer politics of today. A watered-down repuke posture will fail! We must give voters a real choice. Truth is, it's a bipolar political world. The key is to peel off some who may be inclined toward the Repuke side.

We must trumpet proud, patriotic populism! Bring the flag back home! I loved the way Dean would grab those stars and stripes and remind us all that it doesn't fucking belong to the sick-fucks on the right. It belongs to us all.

Dean for me too, man.

5. I supported dean... and I think that if he becomes chair of the DNC
it would be the greatest thing the Democrats have seen since John Kennedy.

7. If Dean can recognize his mistakes
as well as his new assets to party politics he would be perfect. Thanks to yet another revealing manager(Trippi) who couldn't help pointing out the amateur errors you DO have to think twice about that mix of ideology and skill. And we can see where DLC ideology is getting us. Donkeys with elephantiasis.

It blinded them to innovative skills and barely held onto the old, dissatisfied our most fervent(desperate) coalitions.

I say Dean must be a power, but a member of the Black Caucus might be the ticket. Someone who will get real about winning because we have to, and have to win something real, not seats for Republicrats.

8. I represent the Democratic wing of the Democratic party
wish I'd done more to support Dean too when he was more viable. I will admit I was a Wes Clark fan and learned to like Kerry but, I'm a Wellstone Democrat, not a DNC Democrat

10. I would actually include Clark as a "Tell it Like it IS" Democrat...
I supported Clark & Kerry- now I wish I had paid more attention to Dean.

...I'm not so much speaking about how far right or left someone is as much as I'm talking about someone who makes his case, fights, stays true and tells it like it is.

19. I agree, on Clark I agreed more with some positions with Dean
I admit I never got fired up (and a number of friends who were mesmerized by him sort of dulled my enthusiasm) but the issue is directness and I wish that I had helped put Dean over when he was positioned to go further than he eventually did.

Basically, I want what you want: no bullshit

20. This is not about one issue or another- this about telling it like it is.
DK tells it like it is on Iraq-he said "Where are the weapons?" Now everyone asks that.

I disagree with him on pulling out the troops so soon- but no one could never call him a "flip-flopper" on that issue.

I love him, but Kerry hedged his bets on Iraq instead of telling it like it is.
