Olberman received 6000 e mails from us and some phone calls - shows
how many of the 50,000 here are really activist...

However, if it's just 6000 of us...we are an ARMY of Activists.

AND How.

Wow...guys...

we can and will affect the media and this country, - just keep at it

Olberman says tonigt:

"we will indeed be resuming our coverage of the voting irregularities in Ohio and Florida -- and elsewhere -- on this evening's edition of Countdown {8:00 p.m. ET}. The two scheduled guests are Jonathan Turley, an excellent professor of law at George Washington University, and MSNBC analyst and Congressional Quarterly senior columnist Craig Crawford.

For Jonathan, the questions are obvious: the process and implications of voting reviews, especially after a candidate has conceded, even after a President has been re-elected. For Craig, the questions are equally obvious: did John Kerry's concession indeed neuter mainstream media attention to the questions about voting and especially electronic voting, and what is the political state of play on the investigations and the protests.

Phase Two, in which Doris gets her oats...

Keep them coming. Email me at [email protected]

5. J_D, I say we pick a new "ear" - what say you?
6000 emails is awesome! Olbermann has the story and we need to make sure he follows through. But who else can help out? What other sources can we target to email our story to?

11. Why, I'd be delighted to join you ;)
Shall we do the 60 Minutes Sunday dance together, then?

I'll start hounding them in a nice, non-stalker kind of way.

26. No, we have to hit someone else
Unfortunately, Dan Rather won't be able to help much and lend the story much weight until more than just Olbermann break the story, then he's good. Maybe try going after Jennings?

15. I'm sorry ...

I tried just to pass by the comment as though it was never uttered, but I find myself unable to let it go.

I fail to see how sending an e-mail to Olberman, a guy who is essentially of a similar mind to many around here, can be the measure of those who are "really activist." It's fairly easy to preach to the choir, and in this case it is necessary to do so to keep Olberman on the air. Viewer/reader response, positive or negative, is what makes the network want to keep him, and we need his voice.

But a lot of people in a lot of places that come to this place daily do many, many other things, harder things. Try giving testimony at your church in which you declare that as a good Christian you cannot honor the rule of a man who thinks it is okay to kill God's children because they have a different color skin or speak to God by a different name after reading a different book. I know someone personally who did this recently, and his life has been made a living hell because of it. He still stands up, and I don't think he's ever sent Olberman an e-mail.

doing SOMETHING.

And if you told him to come here, we might all give him some support,
or name the church and town, and maybe some DU ers are around who would go to that church and support him with their similar opinions.

Maybe if church goers would do that, some sense might go into some of
these Baptists and fundamentalists heads.

21. I know you meant no offense ...

I probably shouldn't have said anything, but I dunno ...

I talked to my friend earlier, and he's a bit upset. He did this last Sunday, after the preacher led the church in a prayer of "thanks" for "delivering" Bush to a second term. Something snapped in him. He's been a devout Baptist all his life. We've often had intense, but respectful debates about his religion. But, he's never been stupid, and he takes his religion seriously and can't abide hypocrites. He knew he'd been looked down upon, but he's essentially been asked to leave.

He won't.

This may actually get me back into a church, at least for awhile, as support.

Anyway, your larger point, which I should have acknowledged, is quite on the mark. We all need to be doing SOMETHING, big or small. It all matters.

29. That bloodthirsty minister needs to be reminded he's not teaching the bibl
when he abides and sanctions the killing of 100,000 innocent human beings by the murderer in the white house.

Give me his name and address, I'm serious,

I'll post it and we'll send him a few letters about what God and Love
is really about.

interesting...

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/6210240/

Bev Harriss may have shut off an avenue of media for herself...by her
accusation....

Meanwhile, Keith is loving us as much as we're loving him...so don't
let him down.

REmember that sucking MSNBC knocked off Phil Donahue because he was
too liberal although he had better ratings than Chris Matthews.

33. The problem is about the ego
Bev is undoubtedly the person who has made this a story by her sheer perseverance.

All correspondents have an ego and Bev Harris would impinge on that ego. Olbermann wants to have the exposure as THE correspondent who has exposed the voter fraud story. That means cutting out Bev Harris and her work to whatever extent it is possible.

Play the ego and you get your results. But let us personally keep in mind our gratitude to Bev Harris!!

(But remember Bev Harris also has an ego issue and we shoulkd accept it as part of anyone's natural make-up.)
