DU-ers, Consider WORKING ASSETS To Support OUR Values

This is my long-distance company, also applying for their credit card & wireless services.

This company donates a portion or their proceeds to good liberal causes. They have a good deal on credit card balances; so if you are currently paying credi card interests to BushCo you might consider swithing it over, you migt save yourself some money in the process.

Get your money out of the war machine whenever possible....any other good options for these types of services, please post here.

1. You might want to reconsider their credit card.

It's thru MBNA, which is heavily Repuke. I wrote them about that but they didn't really seem to care. I use them for long distance but that's it.

2. Yeah, I found out too late about Working Assets being issued through

a Repuke bank. Unfortunately, I just transferred alot of balances to it at 0% interest til next September. Will not utilize it for anything and will pay off as soon as possible. As for donating money to worthy causes, since there's been talk about all of us cutting back on spending to protest the second election theft, why not donate your extra cash (if you have any) to real charities? That way, you are donating more than a puny nickel to a cause, although yeah, I know, a nickel is a nickel. Still...

4. Question About Credit Cards

I see that Visa is a heavy Dem donator -- but does that mean that all Visa cards are alike, aren't there MBNA Visas?

I guess I'm confused about how credit cards work...what is the best one? This nation is so in debt and credit card interest is a huge chunk of the economy; who is the best to support for those carrying a balance? Luckily I just paid mine off...whew!

So in that case--wouldn't it be better to get the working assets card and not carry a balance since they donate 10 cents per transaction? Wouldn't that kind of be like screwing MBNA since they really WANT you to overspend & have a balance etc...

5. Sounds like you've got it figured out.

Yes, if you can pay your balance in full each month you will end up ahead and MBNA will make very little money off of you. (I think they still get a cut of the merchant fees for the transaction.)

I love 'em. And, so does Whole Foods Market and The Body Shop - all of those socially responsible companies. Support socially responsible (Dem) companies - THEY ARE OUT THERE.
