Who saw Kucinich in Iowa today?

single payer nonprofit medical idea sounds good to me.

Gebhart is the darling of the union executives, but Dennis is the real champion of labor in this field.

It is sad that a candidate with his ideas (which are the soul of progressive liberalism and FDR-style Democratic principles, IMHO), is so far down in the polls.

Is there anything Kucinich can do to--if not to move into contention--then at least to impart his progressive ideas into the campaign?

He is like FDR in another way to, he wants us not to be afraid. He makes himself a unique candiate. I really wish he were more ahead in the polls. That said win or lose the primary Dennis wins still because hes such a great guy and inspired me.

He spoke to a small, but boisterous crowd.

He spoke at elgnth about his plan to revolutionize the health care system to make it single-payer, nonprofit--Medicare for all.

He also spoke about his commitment to labor, full emplyment, and abolishing NAFTA.

2. I heard him, and you won't like this

but in the back of my mind, as I was listening to his speech, I kept thinking, "socialism" - and if I'm thinking that listening to him, imagine what most Americans will think.

I like him. He's a good guy. But it's just too much too soon. Dean would rather have that kind of health plan, he said so, but said it had zero chance of passing, so he went with what could realistically improve things now.

I saw it too, and thought the same thing. He seemed to be calling for way too much way too soon. I realize you can praise him for the same thing as one of the few who fights vigorously for his ideals, but I constantly have in the back of my mind how these things will go over with the masses. Some of the people in the crowd seemed to be eating it up, but it looked like a number of them were a little weirded out by his rhetoric and style too -- and this was a union crowd. Dude certainly is full of piss and vinegar and ideological fervor though, which obviously appeals to a lot of the base.

...Dennis is fast becoming the only acceptable candidate left in the present field.

I certainly won't be voting for right wing porkers who believe in maintaining the embargo against Cuba and keeping troops in Iraq. If I wanted that kind of unprincipled b.s., I could vote for Bush--and get a tax cut in the bargain.

10. Funny how FDR-style policies get equated with socialism

in today's Murka.

Any policy that takes money out of the pockets of the fat cats and helps common people is viewed as somehow un-American.

This is crazy. What we need is another Woody Guthrie to put it plain so people can understand it. DK's ideas are good for America and good for Americans.

13. wht can you do when majority of people just aren't listening yet?

let's face it, thre is a HUGE boatload of people out there just not ready for the election race yet. They are not paying attention and while would probably like Kucinich if they heard him, they very well could miss out due to their own lack of interest.

Was sad to miss out on his visit to IC today, hopefully can find time to see him tomorrow with work and all.
