A Modest Proposal

One of my clients brought in a copy of this:

I'd never read it before that I remember, a satire from an Enlightenment author in 1729. The more things change . . .

2. No, I remember reading Gulliver, but not this

though it is possible I forgot.

A lot of schools have Gulliver as either required or optional reading, but not many places have "A Modest Proposal".

3. Boy, does this take me back.

Read it in college and though I haven't thought of it in awhile, it made a real impact that is with me today. Swift is an awesome writer; this is one of his best, IMHO. Glad it's on the U of O site. Go Ducks!
