3. He allegedy won by 3 percent, not thirty
Edited on Fri Nov-05-04 11:13 AM by rocknation
That means that almost exactly as many people hate him as love him, to with, he has a net of only about 3 million fans. Hardly the stuff of a mandate!

5. The spinning is well underway.
Their perception of 50 pct of the population has been verified. The lies and distortions work well. They will follow like sheep. They don't know that we haven't begun to fight. We are a stubborn lot, and aren't going away. That is their dream now. But hey no gray matter lackeys...we aren't going away.

10. NOW is the time to use the media contact list
One of the site administrators posted a media contact list on the homepage. This is the time to use it. Just write a brief message saying that you disagree that there is a mandate and send it to one or more tv stations, radio stations and/or newspapers. If enough of us do this they will clearly see that a mandate is not what George Bush has.

Don't just sit here and bitch! Write just one or two lines and email it off. It costs nothing and takes only a minute or so.

14. About the "MANDATE"-Do this now- It will help
Edited on Fri Nov-05-04 03:26 PM by itzamirakul
On the ACTIVIST/EVENTS board there is a huge list of click through email addresses for nearly every major news outlet in America including the top "journalists" (dare I even call them by this respected title?) I sent emails to Wolf Blitzer, CNN News, ABC, CBS, Ted Koppel, Al Franken, Randi Rhodes and more that I cannot remember right now.

I simply put "NO MANDATE" in the subject line
Then I composed a very short message:

To:________________:
George Bush received 58 million votes. John Kerry received 56 million votes. This does not constitute a MANDATE for George Bush not matter how you spin it.

A proud liberal Democrat,
(My real name)

I copied the message and pasted it onto about ten different media email forms changing only the name of the person or program that I was contacting.

We have to start SOMEWHERE and as much as I enjoy posting and sharing my outrage with other like thinkers, only by taking some DIRECT ACTION will we let the media know that we are not going to take this lying down. Take just a few minues from posting here and send a couple of emails. They need to hear from us. Just go to ACTIVIST/EVENTS for the email click-throughs.

It is apparent that we have NO LEADERSHIP in the Democratic party at this time. I have not been contacted by any of the fundraisers that filled my mailbox daily for the past six months since Tuesday. Are they off vacationing or what? So, without leadership, we have to grab hold of the rudder or this ship will sink faster than a stone.

Please send just a couple of emails telling the recipients that there is NO MANDATE, because WE SAID SO!

Please and Thanks...

8. The Unfiltered Talking Point for today:
"Unfiltered 11/5/04
TALKING POINT:

You know, for an administration elected on the bare backs of homophobes, there sure is a lot of talk about Man-Dates.. well, it’s bogus. Bupkis. Horsehockeys. And the media is eating it up.

But in fact, there is no mandate for the Bush Administration.

First of all, Bush won by the smallest margin of any *sitting president since 1918.. Woodrow Wilson.

And though Bush won more votes – 59 million – than any presidential candidate in US history, Kerry’s vote total – 56 million – was still greater than any US presidential candidate in history prior to 2004. More Americans cast their vote against Bush than against any other presidential candidate in US history.

Tuesday’s victory was the narrowest for any wartime incumbent president in US history.

Slipping through the cracks is not a mandate."

9. If I hear the word "mandate" one more time I am going to throw my TV
out of the window.

This incompetent asshole got a mandate by extreme right-wing fundamentalists and utterly ignorant morons. They beat us in firing up their base by using scare tactics and lies. This proves again that you can manipulate the stupid into doing anything, even if it goes against their own self-interest and would hurt millions of other people here in America and around the world.

He can shove his right-wing policies right up his ass. Besides ruining this country even more, he will get nothing else done. If Bush lets another 9/11 happen, he and all of his supporters have blood on their hands.
