Or "How To Fight No More Forever In The Old Way, and Fight In A New One".
Go to your local library and volunteer for the adult literacy program. If they do not have one, ask if you can start one.
Go to your local music store, and buy an instrument you have always wanted to play. They have good installment plans for these lean times. Take lessons.
Find out which community theater or theaters are in your area and volunteer. You can act, build a set, help backstage, or run the box office, and you will meet fantastic new people, and when people attend the play, they can forget for a few hours their humdrum lives under Bush.
Write a short story.
Write a poem or two.
If you cook, learn a challenging new recipe and prepare it. If you don't cook, learn. You might be surprised.
Write letters to your friends instead of email. Imagine how surprised they will be, after being deluged with campaign propaganda and bills to recall days of not-so-long ago when this was the norm.
End grudges, and resolve as many difference as you can. And if you are rebuffed, calmly move on. You owe yourself the peace it brings.
Make someone laugh at least once a day.
Floss. Always floss.
Adopt a pet from a shelter. Save its life as well as your own.
Reclaim your mental health.
You can detach yourself from every day insane American life, without being disengaged. Block the cable news, turn off the TV. But do some of the above, and you will be involved in life on levels that tearing your ever-graying hair out over can never achieve.
We may not have those Bush bastards out yet, but we can keep them at bay.
Peace.
