Fly the Rebel Flag!

The battle lines being drawn in this election are civil war era lines, as pointed out in a previous thread. I say that it would totally fuck with conservative southerner's heads if WE started flying a rebel flag as a symbol of resistance to the CURRENT federal government which THEY control. I think it would turn some heads in a "What the FUCK???" kind of way....Might get them to identify with us a bit more, too, by using symbolism they can understand. We could take it from the KKK and the Dixiecrats and redefine the symbol's meaning. Perhaps even remove the racist stigma that goes with it.

Or, Perhaps a reversed colors flag, with red bars on a blue field to draw a slight distinction, though? *shrug* I think it'd be fun, and it WOULD get attention. Free press. :-)

represents slavery and state's rights. That's it.
If you want to show a sign of resistance, fly a red flag or something like that.
Does anyone know a flag of resistance?

6. Red flag = communism.
I'm just saying that Southerners like to claim it is "heritage, not hate" and that it represents a rebellious spirit. I'm just saying use this.

I'm just trying to help here. You've GOT to reconnect with these people if you are going to convey your message to them and pry them away from the fascists. Speak in their language. I'm sorry if it "dirties" your hands to use their language and symbolism, but you need to get over it if you hope to restore the country.

a sign of racism. I'm sorry but that is what it is. Even if they claim it is "heritage, not hate" (yeah right), that means the heritage (slave owner's heritage) of the south, so it represents the south to them. I like the idea of the Gadsen flag that was posted below. Also, the socialist flag (red) represents the power of the people. I think that is a good message.

I like this idea. I also like using an altered version of it, like with a blue field.

I also like the idea of using an ALTERED version of the confederate flag, a version that is meant to say "the rebellion part, without the racism"...

Underneath an upside down US flag, the symbol of distress?

I like it. Mostly because it was my idea...mostly. Okay, maybe just the blue flag part was mine.

24. Yup, they sure did.
So, I ordered 3 more and this time I will cement it to the bracket and cement the clips that hold the flag on the pole. If they find a way to take it, I'll just keep putting up a new one. I knew a repuke would steal it when I put it up. They REALLY hate that flag. That's why I put it up. :evilgrin:

This Act would mandate that, within some reasonable margin of error, your state should get as much back from the feds as is sent to them in taxes. It's time to end this kind of geographic welfare

34. Reversed-color battle flag features in a scary Alternate History series
About a future where the Union lost the Civil War, and keeps getting beat by the South until 1918 - the great war. After the South's defeat, a nazi-type party, the "Freedom Party" emerges, using a reversed colors battleflag as their symbol.

Maybe it's a bit obscure, but I'd rather not be associated with that.

All in all, I'd recommend reading those books, btw. It's by Harry Turtledove, and the series starts with a book called "How Few Remain."
