Some thoughts of peace and comfort
I'm more at peace today than I've been since the election. It took a bit of reflection, a lot of meditation and spiritual practices, and the Grace and Mercy of the One. "If you can smile in hell you've truly reached heaven" is what a dear one of mine says, and it is true.

For those who are believers, remember the teachings of your faith. You can practice that faith, become a living embodiment of it in doing your daily tasks. For those who are not believers, but believe in moral issues (such as human rights), continue to walk your talk. People will notice; people will be touched.

Take some time now to support others who walk their talk as well. Organizations that support human rights, organizations that help the
least of those among the world. My cause, for example, is Refugees International ( www.refugeesinternational.org). This advocacy group keeps tabs on refugee situations around the world-they were among the first to say we shouldn't go into Iraq, they were among the first to alert the world to the tragedy of Darfur. They do a lot with a little, and are grateful for whatever you can give. Since they are independent of any government, they can speak the truth. Check them out-donating can make you feel better.
