48. The horrible thing is...
...that there's no way we're going to be able to get rid of BBV within the next year, no matter what we try. Those who benefited from them hold all the power in that regard.

So I guess we're screwed.

8. Mike basically told callers...
that anyone who needs a 'group hug' or who gets through the screeners and starts in with, 'In two years we'll do better' is going to get cut off. He says that is not realistic, becaue things are much more dire than that.

He wants us to FIGHT. I agree with him. He's also slamming the voting machines, 'Do you think the people who get into this business are doing it for democracy???'

12. He's talking about the fact
that we have about 1 year to get the f*cking useless and corrupt electronic voting machines the hell out of every single polling place in the country or we have ZERO hope of ever saving this Democratic Republic. It will be a brief shining moment in history that survivors may look back at fondly.

And as usual he's ABSOLUTELY RIGHT.

And made another contribution to bbv.org.

Hubby and I voted on paper ballots. Fill in the ovals with a dark blue or black pen, fold it up and drop it off. Who knows if it got counted. But it's paper and countable and the only way to go.

The ones behind writing the software for the four machine companies. The software is proprietary.

Software can be manipulated. Just as gampling casinos can set their percentage of payout on electronic slots, so can any such voting machine. Such as every hundredth vote registers for Bush regardless of how the vote was cast. Very clean, immune to challenge.

28. There are multiple ways that they cansteal the votes
with these machines. For instance..

1. You push botton for one guy but it registers for another.
2. You push for the Democrat but the review screen says that you pushed for the repuke. If you don't think to fix it before you push vote you just voted against your guy.
3. Database change. You can simply change the vote totals in the database at the 'momma' computer.
4. Every 10 for you and give me 1.
5. etc
6. etc

economically shut down this country by spending the next 2-4 years buying nothing outside our basic needs. We need to take to the streets in civil disobedience, we need to resist and raise a defiant fist to any bullshit draft these pigs try to shove down our throats. I think we need to organize at the grass roots level, finally admit that voting aint changing shit, and we adopt old labor tactics for forcing change.

64. I do believe Bev is working behind the scenes to expose
a major flaw in the system. She's filed to get audit reports from certain precincts around the country. Audit reports from the bogus election yesterday. Time will tell if she's successful.

We can't have anymore elections with those machines. Until CONGRESS grows some balls to get rid of them, the repukes own the country. After yesterday, I don't see that happening. The repukes own Congress. The ONLY way to get rid of them is with an investigation of fraud and a proven connection to the regime to bring them down. It's the only way. Greg Palast has the truth. He's investigated it, but he will NEVER get on the U.S. airwaves with his info. The regime OWNS the airwaves. I don't see a way out of this. Moveon can't do anything. Not without a media who's willing to air the truth.

40. That's not even enough.
Mike was saying to have another look at HAVA and how little protection the so-called "paper-trail" really is. A paper trail doesn't mean much if the votes are tampered with at the central counting computer and the records of them destroyed. Any effort at a real challenge would just wind up dragging out for years.

The bottom line is we need hard copy ballots in perpetuity.

99. optical scan does have a paper trail
i.e. -the ballots that were scanned. But, in some of those systems the card is removed at each precicnct and taken to a central counting place. Matching Ballots could be substituted along with a new card on the trip to the central counting location. Some of those systems do have a little printout of the totals at the precicnct that could be matched again to the central point tally though. I am sure that was done often with old-fashioned paper ballots moved from a precicnct to a central counting location. Pull a switch in transit.

to check on the accuracy of the counting software and procedures. In many states, doing this simple audit is actually illegal. Look at the lead article here: http://www.blackboxvoting.org/ and download or buy the book on the left side for more information.

In broad daylight while our eyes were wide open! We will NEVER have a paper trail on the voting machines. If we had a paper trail the repukes couldn't steal elections. It will never happen. He said he respects Kerry for having the courage to stand up against the Bush Crime Family, he's only saying it's NAIVE for any of us, INCLUDING KERRY, to think you can win ANY election in the future with the VOTE-BOTS!! GET RID OF THE VOTING MACHINES.

57. Hopefully his Kerry rant will be highlighted on the AAR website tomorrow.
For anyone who missed it, he went ballistic, mocking Kerry for the way he rolled over today in his concession speech. Too damn funny!!

Thanks, Mike, I needed that!

93. Naked Shorting / SEC petition
http://www.investigatethesec.com/petition.php

Caller said that these voting machine manufacturers are involved in "naked shorting," and suggested that petitioning the SEC to "do their job" is a "sure-fire way" to expose their scandals and get rid of the machines. He's looking to get 50,000 signatures by the weekend.

Edited on Thu Nov-04-04 12:40 AM by Zinfandel
left is that slim margin that it takes to control everything, a 60 - 40 Senate...this is exactly what I was saying last night to my son...Now the republicans are only five fucking votes away...(in 2006?)

What I was also saying this morning was how these BBV machines just pumped up Bush's lead to exactly 51% ---so nice & cozy isn't it?

A fucking ATM machine spits out a fucking receipt...but not a electronic voting machine??????????????????
