Sugar Land, TX (DeLays Hometown) 7:30 a.m. report
NO signs for B/C or Delay anywhere near our polling place (Elementary School) NONE NADA ZIP ZERO! Lines--smiling people--and they ain't smiling about GW. We have a really internationllay integrated 'hood and the immigrants tend to be the better educated among us. Also noticed several BC house signs gone in the last week and not replaced. Hmmmm.

1. They put a B/C sign up at an early polling place in my NC neighborhood.
The local kids completely thrashed it. They didn't just take it down, they slashed it and spray painted. No Bush lovers in that neighborhood. The Kerry signs were untouched, absolutely pristine.

10. Yup and the crow is hooting
for the chimp. Black cats are running under ladders over broken mirrors in Chimp land. The dealer just dealt him aces and 8 s.

3. My precinct is drenched in DeLay signs
BUT DeLay's campaign headquarters is in my neighborhood, so maybe it's just a matter of convenience.

My SO is voting now...hope to have a report soon.

8. LOTS of the smaller yard signs seen around my neighborhood!
About 5 Morrison signs for every Bugman sign. Same goes for Kerry signs - about 5 Kerry signs for every *Shrub* sign. No love lost here in TX!!!

7. Are you allowed to have signs at your polling places in TX?
Here in GA they have BIG neon pink signs at all the polling places that say "NO ELECTIONEERING WITHIN 150 FEET OF POLLS". They consider it electioneering even if you wear a B/C or K/E button! There was a man arrested during early voting here in Hall Cty. because his wife had a K/E shirt on their infant and wouldn't turn it inside out. She left in a huff, and hubby came back wearing a K/E shirt and a Bush mask.

12. I can still remember voting when at least local candidates
and print ads for all the candidates were at all the polls! The candidates were in the parking lot and the flyers, posters & cards were all layed out on a couple of tables inside! They made a strong point to smile, and shake everyone's hand right before you went in the door.

13. whatever it is,
it wasn't close enough to get my into the parking lot at the Deer Park precinct where I volunteered this a.m. :(

Had to content myself with smiling and waving at the cars as they came in, waving my big blue Morrison sign -- in the rain, of course. Sometimes, THIS is what democracy looks like, I guess. One soaked-rat-wet volunteer smiling and waving madly while thinking, "Every. vote. counts. Every. vote. counts."

And I packed up my lit into little ziplock baggies to keep it dry for those few people that WOULD slow down and crack open the window.

See y'all at the party in Sugar Land!

14. Thanks for the Good News
My precinct was cold, wet, and probably leaning DeLay, as you can read from my post above. It's good to remember that the district is more diverse than the Bug Man would like...

But even in Deer Park, I did get a more than a few "thumbs-up" type reactions including one big "toooot - toooot" from a thumbs-up trucker. :)
