PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE...listen to this song...PLEASE??
It's been in my sig, but no one has ever said anything about it so I've assumed that no one's ever checked it out. PLEASE, at least once, download this and listen to it.

It's the absolute PERFECT song to listen to the day before and day of the elections.

This is not my song, but it's perfectly ok with the artist, a devoted Democrat (and indie artist, support indie artists). She specifically gave me permission to share it.

The lyrics:

We're waking up
Yes it's good
We're waking up
Like I knew we would

There's a breath of hope
For everyone to share
There's a growing force
Of people who care

In all the years of struggle
It seems we're making way
I have never been afraid to
Change the circumstances
Of the world

Cobwebs everywhere
It's time for a deep sweep

We're waking up
Yes it's clear
We're waking up
Dawn is here

Feel the searing heat of
Heightened consciousness
Feel the yearning for
Peace and happiness

For all the times I've wished
That we would finally
Come around
I have never been afraid
To change the circumstances
Of the world

Cobwebs everywhere
Time for a deep sweep

We're waking up
Yes it's good
We're waking up
Like I knew we would

There's a breath of hope
For everyone to share
There's a growing force
Of people who care

In all the years of struggle
It seems we're making way
I have never been afraid to
Change the circumstances
Of the world

Cobwebs everywhere
It's time for a deep sweep

We're breaking out of
Cranium keep
We're waking up
After the sleep

We're breaking out of
Cranium keep
We're waking up
After the sleep
Now

1. It's a nice song.
I've saved it to my anti Bush song folder. I'll send it to my other buddies.

Thanks for the effort. :toast:

3. Thanks and you're welcome! Please keep kicking folks.
I'd love for this to keep being kicked, just because I think it's a perfect song for here and now, these two days.

It's not self-serving, honest. I have no financial or professional interests in the song or the artist, I'm just a fan. I just think think it's a mini-anthem for all our hard work.

2. Happy Rhodes
WXPN in Philadelphia plays all her stuff. I'm pretty sure they've played this one, too.

She's a great musician, but too little-known.

4. WOW, someone who's heard of Happy Rhodes!
I've been a fan since 1988. I've even traveled from Chicago to Philly several times to see her perform at the Tin Angel and Painted Bride. I even went to her first concert there in Philly, at the University of Pennsylvania in 1991, for this album.

I'm not going to be around much. Sleep, things to do, Election Protection training (yay!), so I leave it to DU'ers to spread the song around (I hope I hope I hope).

I am so psyched about Tuesday!!

7. I like Amy Rigby too, but my goddess is Kate Bush (No relation!!)
That's another thing I really hate about Shrub. I can never again say I like Kate Bush without automatically saying "No relation!!" immediately after it.

6. Leaving to go to Election Protection training...
I'm just kicking one more time for the late afternoon group.

We so have right on our side. People are waking up to that.
