Drudge links to Diebold story!
In a strange but true development DRUDGE has the headline “PAPER: Voting Machine Owner Committed To Give Votes To Bush...” and it links to a Cleveland Plain Dealer article

Will wonders never cease? What in the world could he be up to?

3. Hmm. It's not salacious or shocking. Why would Drudge give a...
...damn? I see the issue as the lynch pin in the future of our democracy, but it reads like just one more garden variety tale of republican dirty tricks. Is Drudge just filling space or is he growing a conscience (and a brain)?

4. Why isn't there any interest in this story?
I thought it was a surprising bit of news that someone like Drudge is reporting this. As far as I know it is the first bit of coverage from the right, could there be a potential breakthrough?

7. Republicans must have a counter strategy they'll unfold on his site
First, introduce people to the issue. Then tell them lies about it.0

8. As a Gay Man, Drudge must have some fears of Bush
You would think that anyone who is a homosexual is in danger given the current crazies. Drudge knows where his bread is buttered, but he is not above posting any kind of scandal. It just so happenms that the right is full time employed a t churning up scandal.

9. Doesn't Drudge think he is deeply in the closet?
We don't know he is gay, right?

Some of them admit that the tally might be wrong but since it will favor them, who cares?

11. Hey they called us DUmmies
Getting original over there aren't they. We should remind them that vote fraud on Diebold or any other machine is equal opportunity. Who has made the claim that vote rigging would only be done by Dem or Repigs? How about the CIA, the Mafia, foreign intelligence, any active hacker just for the hell of it. Narrow minded freepers need to start thinking big. This is not us versus them.

12. The C-Span host actually read
this paragraph on Washington Journal this morning:

"Columbus - The head of a company vying to sell voting machines in Ohio told Republicans in a recent fund-raising letter that he is "committed to helping Ohio deliver its electoral votes to the president next year."

The Aug. 14 letter from Walden O'Dell, chief executive of Diebold Inc. - who has become active in the re-election effort of President Bush - prompted Democrats this week to question the propriety of allowing O'Dell's company to calculate votes in the 2004 presidential election.
