who we actually get along with quite well. If we didn't get along with our republican neighbors we basically wouldn't speak to anyone on our street (minus 2 that I know of)

Anyway, he asked "how is your guy Kerry doing?"
husband: "I don't know how it's going to turn out."
him:"I don't know, but everyone I ask, who I thought was a * supporter, is now voting for Kerry for all different reasons."

By the way, we live in the Tampa area of Florida. I take this as VERY good news!

I hope many conscientious Republicans vote their hearts when they get in that booth alone with their own thoughts... they cannot all really think Bush is great. I think many are just afraid to admit they were wrong, but in the privacy of the voting booth...

and i don't think the Tampa area will go blue, but I thought it was good news because he said these were people he "knew" were voting for * and now had changed their minds. He said, "well, I am still voting for him", but my husband said he didn't sound real happy about it anymore.

he mentioned some of the people told them they changed their minds because of outsourcing, others because of Iraq and others for the economy.

I think that is training more than anything. My family and in-laws - except my sister and her husband are all republicans. We have had to learn when to speak and when to bite our tongue.

He is quite civil and understanding about how we will vote. He was surprised when he found out - I think where we are people are assumed to be repubs until proven differently. He only wanted to know why, of course there are so many reasons, but we told him Iraq,that is the biggie for us.

Other good news my dad, in WI, a life-long republican - cried when Carter won, is either not voting * or voting Kerry. He thinks * screwed everything up.

Basically, my entire family and extended family lives in swing states and although most are staying where they were in 2000 politically, I know of at least one, my dad who switched from * to possibly kerry. I am working on my mom. Unfortunately she believes life is easier if you just don't talk about politics so votes R because that's "just what she does".

Last time my supervisor mentioned the election to me, he had been undecided! Said the debates convinced him that Kerry was the better man. :bounce:

I know of one person who walked into the Macomb rally last night as a * supporter and walked out a Kerry supporter. He went with a friend, and I guess what he saw was not what the smears had led him to expect.

17. Weapons depot thing will REALLY hurt Bush ...

... they simply have no way to brush this off besides blaming it on the military. But blaming ANYTHING on the military is a HUGE no-no of wartime politics!!!!

Besides, we will probably find out that some commander WANTED to guard it, or even blow the stockpile up in graduated portions. But they simply DO NOT HAVE ENOUGH MANPOWER to handle it.

My guess is that Washington probably interfered and ordered those troops pulled for the Fallujah operation over the objections of local commanders. I can't think that they would promote ANYBODY to Colonel who didn't understand that you can't hand weapons over to the enemy!!!!
