12. Bumper Stickers Backfire

I was at the video store tonight when an acquaintance (aka, southern woman of an indeterminate age) walked in and asked in her sweet southern lady drawl, who owned the SUV with the Support the Troops bumper sticker.

The idiot owner piped up and said "I do."

At that point, Miz SWIA, went up one side of her and down the other, told her to get rid of the gas guzzler and send the extra gas to the troops that needed it. Told her in a loud voice how things were during WWII when support the troops meant sacrifice at home.

The rest of us hunched down in the stacks and waited until she left.

I was never so glad that I drove a compact with no bumper stickers in my life.
