BALTIMORE - Shareholders Tuesday challenged a plan by Sinclair Broadcast to air a documentary critical of John Kerry's anti-Vietnam War activities, saying the controversial broadcast may hurt their investment.

Attorney William S. Lerach said he planned to sue on behalf of shareholders, alleging insider trading by top executives as well as damage from the decision to air the film. Media Matters, a media advocacy group, announced it was underwriting the costs of a shareholder action demanding equal time for opposing views.

In late trading, Sinclair shares were off another 5 percent Tuesday, dropping 34 cents to $6.15 a share on the NASDAQ market. Sinclair stock dropped about 8 percent on Monday, and is down from a high of more than $15 a share in January.

Sell at the high, make a big public mess to supress the stock price, and buy back in at the low. The trading activities opf the owners, board and their friends should be investigated.
