An interesting point about early voting
I was at the Edwards rally today in Gainesville, FL. Our new mayor (for whom I proudly voted), Pageen Hanrahan, made an interesting point about early voting (starts tomorrow!) in Florida. She said that it is important for everyone who is a hardcore voter to vote early so all of the newly registered voters and all of the people who are not as passionate about it but are voting nonetheless won't be discouraged by long lines at the polls Nov. 2 and possibly turn away.

Given that higher voter turnout tends to be to the Democratic candidate's advantage, and that there has been an unprecedented GOTV movement this year, I think she has a great point.

(By the way, be jealous - I get to vote for Kerry and Castor tomorrow! :headbang: )

I vote in the middle of the day, so I've never dealt with long lines and I don't think I'll be inconveniencing anyone. Those who vote at busier times though maybe should consider voting early.
I personally look forward to being part of the activity though :)

6. I voted yesterday
nya nya

But yes, early voting will definitely help relieve heavy voting on Nov 2 and make it less likely for voters to be disenfranchised. Hope everybody who can, does!
