Sean Penn sure has come a long way since his "Madonna" days
I just saw a report on this entertainment show.

Seems Sean was so pissed with the South Park duo who put together, "Team America", that he wrote them a "fuck you" letter, and invited them to travel with him on one of his humanitarian trips to Iraq.

I love this guy.

3. He lived long enough to grow up..

Lots of young men are just like him (I gave birth to one :eyes:..) They are kind of off-track for a long time, and somewhere in their mid-twenties/early thirties they get their intelligence to kick in..

There is hope .. :)

4. Remember that rumor
that Penn use to make Madonna climb into a tub of ice water and then he'd have sex with her as she would resemble a 'stiff corpse'?

It ain't easy being famous!

7. I really don't know much about this incident or circumstances.
but I did see a thread the other day (sorry, I stink at cross referencing threads) that indicated that the letter was most polite and appreciative of their previous most witty characterizations of him. He was upset about the movie though. So the people who responded to the thread who were far more familiar with South Park and its creators than myself, figured that they would invariably roast him on future shows. It was pretty funny and rang true.

8. Saw the duo last night on some entertainment show....
and they looked so stupid and low-class trying to put Penn down. They
gave their rap about how famous people who don't know what they are
talking about should not comment on politics. I didn't seem to occur to
them that movie star COULD know what he was talking about. They
were projecting their own ignorance onto Penn. They are trying to use
Penn to promote their film, and were acting all sulky that he dared to
object to that.

10. Here's the link I was looking for..
To Trey Parker and Matt Stone,

I remember a cordial hello when you guys were beginning to be famous guys around Hollywood at some party. I remember several times getting a few giggles out of your humor. I remember not being bothered as you traded on my name among others to appear witty, above it all, and likeable to your crowd. I never mind being of service, in satire and silliness.

I do mind when anybody who doesn't have a child, doesn't have a child at war, or isn't or won't be in harm's way themselves, is encouraging that there's "no shame in not voting" "if you don't know what you're talking about" (Mr. Stone) without mentioning the shame of not knowing what your talking about, and encouraging people to know. You guys are talented young guys but alas, primarily young guys. It's all well to joke about me or whomever you choose. Not so well, to encourage irresponsibility that will ultimately lead to the disembowelment, mutilation, exploitation, and death of innocent people throughout the world. The vote matters to them. No one's ignorance, indcluding a couple of hip cross-dressers, is an excuse.

All best, and a sincere fuck you,

Sean Penn

P.S. Take this as a personal invitation from me to you (you can ask Dennis Miller along for the ride as well) to escort you on a trip, which I took last Christmas. We'll fly to Amman, Jordan and I'll ride with you in a (?) 12 hours through the Sunni Triangle into Fallujah and Baghdad and I'll show you around. When we return, make all the fun you want.

In my search I found out that Ben Stiller and Vince Vaughn are the voices for the team america ..two guys who I think are voting for Kerry..I wonder what they thought when they were voicing this shit.

11. I've had a lot of respect for Penn since
I read that he gave a job to Daulton Lee, the pusher turned spy whose life he portrayed in "The Falcon and the Snowman," when he (Lee) was released from prison a few years ago. Also admire him for standing up for his principles and not giving a shit what anyone thinks.
